The characteristic values stated are average values or approx. values. We use natural raw materials in our products, which means that the stated values can vary slightly in the same delivery batch; this does not affect the suitability of the product for its intended purpose. Substrate Requirement Preparation The substrate must be firm, level, dry, load bearing and free from grease and dust. The suitability of the fixing method with the substrate must be assessed individually on site where necessary. Damp or not fully cured substrates can lead to defects in subsequent coats, such as blistering or cracking. Check existing coatings for their suitability and load bearing capacity. Remove any loose or structurally weak finishes. The substrate must be cleaned where necessary. Application Application temperature Minimum substrate and air temperature: +5 C Maximum substrate and air temperature: +30 C Processing time Mixing ratio At +20 C: approx. 60 minutes 5.8 l water per 25 kg Preparing the material Pour water into a container and then add the dry mortar material. Stir for approx. 2 minutes, allow to mature for approx. 3 minutes and then stir again for approx. 30 seconds. Consumption Type of application Consumption approx. Reinforcement 4,50-6,00 kg/m² Bonding of EPS boards 4,50-5,50 kg/m² Bonding of mineral wool boards 6,50-7,50 kg/m² Adhesive application onto the wall for Sto-EPS Boards and Sto-Speed Lamellas Additional bonding of insulation boards with rail attachment 5,00-6,00 kg/m² 2,50-3,00 kg/m² Bonding of Resol insulation boards 4,50 kg/m² per mm of layer thickness 1,30 kg/m² The consumption depends on the application method, substrate and consistency, amongst other factors. The stated consumption values are guide values only. Where required, precise consumption values can be established on site. Application Manually or by machine Bonding: Coat the product manually with a stainless steel trowel, or by machine. The insulation boards must be immediately pushed into or floated on the fresh bonding mortar bed and pressed against it. Rev.-Nr.: 1 / EN / 17.02.2011 / 2/6
Amount of bonding for adhesive application onto the wall: With Sto PS rigid foam boards, at least 60 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. With Sto Speed lamellas, at least 50 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. Amount of bonding for adhesive application on the board: At least 40 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. For EWI systems with ceramic cladding, basically an adhesive surface of 60 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. Reinforcing: Apply the product manually with a stainless steel trowel or by machine. Fully embed the mesh in the upper third of the reinforcement in the still damp reinforcing compound. Mesh joints must overlap by min. 10 cm. Diagonal reinforcement must be used on building openings (such as windows, door reveals, etc.). Recommended average reinforcement layer thickness 3-5 mm. The specified value is a reference value. Depending on the application (corners, reveals, etc.), therefore, the layer thickness can vary greatly. Machine application (mixing and/or pumping) must be aimed for. The material can also be applied with commonly available render spray machines for fine textured render. Drying, curing, over-coating The drying time depends on the temperature, wind and relative humidity. During unfavourable weather conditions it is imperative that suitable protective measures (e.g. protection against rain) be applied to the work in progress and freshly completed facades. Depending on the weather, curing takes approx. 1 day/mm of layer thickness. At +20 C temperature (air and substrate) and 65% relative humidity, the next coat can be applied after approx. 24-48 hours. Cleaning tools Indications, recommendations, general information, miscellaneous Delivery Colour shade Tintable Packaging Clean tools with water immediately after use. Further details of the application can be found in the system-related application guideline. The use of QS products is recommended for reinforcing work during the cold and damp time of year. light grey Not tintable. Sack Rev.-Nr.: 1 / EN / 17.02.2011 / 3/6
