1 2012 Floating Treatment Wetland Monitoring Plan - Summary (Pond 10 & Jannock Pond) 1 TEMPERATURE MONITORING Continuous temperature loggers will be used for this project. One logger will be installed at each of the pond inlets and the outlets (figure 3 & 5). In addition, cables with loggers attached will be dispersed throughout the ponds (figure 1, 3, & 5). On the cable of loggers, temperature loggers will be place every 10 cm for the first 50 cm and then every 50 cm until the bottom (figure 1). Loggers will be installed to the low water level of the pond. Therefore, the weight must be heavy enough and the float small enough that the loggers stay in place when the water level increased during storms. Loggers will be set to record water temperature at 30-minute intervals. Loggers will be installed and recording data from June 1 to September 30. Loggers will be downloaded monthly, to ensure that if there is a problem with one of the loggers only a maximum of one month of data is lost. 1.1. Pond 10 A single temperature logger will be placed in the two (2) inlets and the outlet of Pond 10. Three cables of temperature loggers with be placed in Pond 10, one will be located before the Floating islands, one in the middle of the islands, and the third between the islands and the outlet. 1.2. Jannock Pond A singe temperature logger will be placed in the three (3) inlets and in the one (1) outlet of Jannock Pond. Until islands are installed in Jannock Pond, a single cable of loggers will be installed in the center of the pond. 1.3. Logger Purchases Trent University has agreed to provide 15 Hobo Pendant Continuous Water Loggers. Additional Hobo Pendant Continuous Water Loggers have been purchased by Andrew O Rourke.
