Firestone RubberGard : A history of proven performance. While many single-ply roofing membranes have been on the market for ten years or less, Firestone s RubberGard EPDM roofing membrane has been serving building owners across the country for over two decades. Since the first RubberGard roofs were installed in 1980, Firestone roofing systems have consistently delivered the two critical needs all building owners demand: outstanding durability and low life-cycle cost. Now, RubberGard Platinum will expand the EPDM durability benefit even farther. Over the years, many single-ply roofing membranes have come and gone; and many of those that remain have been re-formulated extensively. But Firestone s RubberGard membrane remains essentially unchanged since its introduction in 1980. The same combination of resilient EPDM polymers and selected grades of engineered Carbon Black that was introduced over twenty years ago is still proving its worth. And the benefit of this formulation has been demonstrated on rooftops across the world. Firestone AcryliTop Optional reflective white coating is ENERGY STAR listed for climates requiring solar reflectance. This RubberGard EPDM roofing system was installed in 1980 and remains in service today. To this point, RubberGard roofs have delivered an unmatched level of service and performance, providing significantly longer service life than traditional built-up roofing (BUR), while equaling or exceeding the service life of modern modified bitumen roofing. With the introduction of the Platinum System, Firestone s newest EPDM offering promises to outperform other popular roofing alternatives in terms of service life and low life-cycle cost. Patented Firestone IsoGard Foam Technology provides long-term thermal performance for reliable energy savings. Firestone RubberGard Platinum At 90 mils, the industry s greatest uninterrupted weatherable thickness guards against weathering and wear. Firestone HailGard Factory-laminated high performance OSB board provides warranted resistance to hail and accidental puncture.

RubberGard Platinum: The industry s most durable membrane backed by the industry s best warranty. The Platinum System is quite simply Firestone s best roof yet. The best in terms of durability. The best in terms of warranty protection. And the best in long term value for building owners. A roofing membrane has to face many challenges. In addition to resisting the natural forces of weathering, roof membranes must accommodate service traffic for the periodic maintenance of rooftop equipment such as exhaust vents and air conditioning units. RubberGard Platinum, 90 mils of uninterrupted weatherable thickness, is tough enough to stand up to almost anything the elements can throw at it. RubberGard Platinum is tougher still when used in concert with Firestone s complete family of accessory products, including Firestone AcryliTop TM coating to add durability and deflect damaging solar rays and Firestone HailGard insulation for improved thermal performance and increased resistance to hail and accidental puncture. Long-term building owners looking for value understand the longevity benefits of Firestone RubberGard Platinum.

Firestone QuickSeam Flashing Provides redundancy and increased strength. Firestone QuickSeam Splice Tape Provides proven waterproofing on billions of square feet of Firestone RubberGard roofs. Trust Firestone to offer the industry s best roofing seam. Millions of square feet of 90 mil Firestone RubberGard have been in service since 1987. Incredibly, not a single seam-related warranty repair payout has been made to date, due to the remarkable strength of the Firestone QuickSeam System. The QuickSeam Tape Seam System is the most advanced method of field seaming RubberGard EPDM membrane available in the industry. Firestone offers a complete family of QuickSeam products to assure that your RubberGard Platinum roof is installed with the highest standards of quality and durability. Internal fabric reinforcement literally reduces weatherable thickness by 50% or more. As a result, a 45 mil reinforced single-ply membrane really offers only 20-22 mils of weathering. Many modified bitumen membranes offer even less weatherable thickness by combining reinforcement with sacrificial surfacings such as mineral granules. Only RubberGard Platinum offers 90 mils of uncompromised weatherability. What uninterrupted weatherable thickness means to your building. As you can see from the diagrams shown above, conventional roofing surfaces use various strategies to enhance durability, but not without drawbacks. RubberGard Platinum offers a much more solid solution: 90 mils of EPDM, with no internal reinforcements or backings required, and no coatings or coverings that can be stripped away by exposure to the elements. Uninterrupted weatherable thickness also means better hail and puncture resistance.
