PRESENTATION OF THE SYSTEM The BS cassette system includes facings made of pre-coated galvanised steel sheets, of stainless steel sheets or of aluminium alloy sheets fixed with traversing fixtures, and flashings made of the same materials as the cassettes. A set of accessories obtained by folding enables to work on specific points (eaves, lead strips, angles...). The system is designed to be implemented on new constructions, or on constructions undergoing refurbishment work: private, public or industrial buildings, shopping malls, or residences. The various colours and surface finishes are to be submitted to AMC so as to verify feasibility: Pre-coated steel with nacre finish: COLORISSIME by Arval colour Post-coated steel through powdering: RAL colour In the case of specific requirements, in terms of aesthetics for example, the visible face of BS cassettes can be rendered more rigid by fixing onto the back face a system comprising a rigid

core (extruded polystyrene, honey comb polypropylene or mineral wool) and 0.5 mm-thick galvanised steel sheets The seal covers are made of the same material as the cassettes, with 1 mm thick sheet. A waterproof seal is fixed to the seal cover, which enables to ensure that the vertical hollow joints remain watertight once fixed. The finishes are made of the same sheets as the cassettes, with a maximum length of 6.00 meters. Eave crown (technical diagrams - fig. 11) Outgoing angle (technical diagrams fig.13 &14) Ingoing angle (technical diagrams fig.15 & 16) Lead strips, etc (technical diagrams fig.12) etc. (technical diagrams fig.7 to 10) IMPLEMENTATION The BS Cassettes should be placed on an adjusted secondary frame so as to enable the circulation of a layer of ventilated air between the cassettes and the wall of the support, or possibly the thermal insulation. This frame must satisfy the requirements set forth in the document C.S.T.B. n 3194 January - February 2000 «General conditions governing the design and implementation of the metal structure and thermal insulation of decorative cladding." The fixing of BS cassettes to the frame must be made with self-tapping or hole-finding screws, which aren't supplied by AMC. These screws are to show a resistance to tearing that is compatible with the wind loads affecting the cassettes, especially in low pressure conditions. The lower section of the cassettes overlaps the upper section of the inferior cassettes, thus ensuring water tightness at the level of all horizontal seals. The vertical seal cover is attached at the level of the vertical hollow joint between two cassettes with self-tapping screws with a minimum diameter of 4.8 mm. At least two screws should be used per meter, in order to ensure that the vertical seals between cassettes are waterproof. PACKAGING AND TRANSPORT A delivery note is appended to each parcel and details the following: Customer order reference, Batch reference, Name of the customer Type of product Thickness of the facing Content of the package (amount and length) Colour reference of pre-coated sheets.

The BS cassettes are packaged as part of the production line. The weight of the package can not exceed 2.5 tons. BS cassettes and their accessories are to be transported in a manner that ensures their integrity (wedged parcels, carefully bunched and strapped down, closed trucks). ORGANIZATION The AMC company is a product manufacturer and does not carry out installation operations. The implementation of BS cassettes must be performed by professional companies that are qualified to carry out these operations. The design and preliminary studies prior to the building of the façade are neither the responsibility of AMC nor of its distributors. Upon request, AMC can provide technical assistance. This guide does not aim to provide all the details of the implementation process, but to give the main technical specificities and properties of the cassettes. In order to provide some assistance with the façades, some design suggestions concerning particular points and finishes are appended to the guide. The appended diagrams are given as examples, and other solutions may be considered. UNLOADING, STORAGE AND HANDLING The handling operations are to be carried out with the product specificities taken into account. They're to be handled vertically. They are to be stored on flat surfaces, with the parcels slightly inclined longitudinally, and care must be taken so that not more than two parcels overlap. The storage time on the construction site must be limited to the minimum necessary. One crucial precaution consists in preventing water infiltrating, by dripping or condensation, between the panels. They are to be sheltered from direct sunlight. The protection film covering the BS cassettes must be peeled-off in advance, at the latest 15 days after delivery. The metal façades are to undergo normal maintenance operations, as per provisions set forth in the Professional Regulations Governing Metal Cladding (article 4-2-91, outdoor maintenance). Although the surface is naturally cleaned by rain water, it can also be cleaned regularly with detergent-free household cleaning products, with no solvent nor abrasive agents, followed by clear water rinsing. Maintenance operations include: removal of various forms of vegetation (e.g. moss) and any other foreign items that have been deposited on the facing's surface. Repairs to localised damages as soon as these are identified, such as corrosion points caused by exterior actions and damages for example.

SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS OF DETAILS The following illustrations provide examples of specific points to treat when installing a BS cassette cladding. Many other solutions may be considered and examined by the company tasked with installation operations, depending on product specificities. Please contact us for any additional information. IMPORTANT The content of this document is based on data relating to construction and material properties. It's designed to help AMC customers use our products. Based on procedures and construction methods that were known at the moment of the publication, this Implementation Guide should not be considered as the final version and can be reviewed and/or amended at any moment.
