Knowledge Sharing and Innovation Implementing in three tracks with five different units KM for Cultural Exchange KM for Enhancing Org. Effectiveness Innovations in KS for Impact KSI Units 1. Information Systems Unit - 2. Data Management Systems- 3. Library and Information Services- 4. Learning Systems Unit- 5. ICT for Development- Sustain ICRISAT Technology Edge Available access to data to get successful results Available access to research publications Organize capacity building activities for learner-participants Innovations in linking research-extension-farmers-markets
Information Systems Unit (ISU) Sustain ICRISAT Technology Edge Email facility (700 mail boxes) Support to Research Blogs, websites 35 servers and 2 clusters Telepresence EPAD and KSI Connect
ISU Proposed CRP work plans Develop a crop expert system Captures crop information across CRP institutes through institute linkages, geographical information. Also captures work progress at partner agencies. Allows to run queries to retrieve the output through state of the art rule and fuzzy logic based export system. Local Area Network to Wifi Enhance large part of network (at Patancheru) from 100 mbps to Gigabit speed and induction of secure wi-fi components for each building. It will be done in phases. Best experiences will be replicated to regional centers.
Data Management Unit Access to data to get successful results Decentralized Data Management Platforms with Central Data Repository
Data Management Unit Access to data to get successful results CRPs Decentralized Data Management Platforms with Central Data Repository
Data Management Unit Access to data to get successful results Develop/Outsource a Data Management Application Tool with spatial integration and statistical analysis using proper data modeling techniques for Grain Legume crops and Dry land Cereals Organize CRPs training programs and capacity building activities to bring awareness and cultural change among scientists Work closely with consortium to integrate the system with Spatial Data Commons and Breeding Data Sharing (others are Open Access Policy, Knowledge Commons and Research Project Management on Big 5 of Consortium) Decentralized Data Management Platforms with Central Data Repository
Library and Information Services Available access to research publications Open Access Repository http://oar.icrisat.org/
LIS Proposed CRP work plans Mapping global crops research using scientometric techniques Literature profiles of ICRISAT mandate crops will be developed
LIS Proposed CRP work plans together with DMU and Biometrics Institutional Data Repository The campaign begins for systematic data archiving http://dataverse.icrisat.org/dvn
Learning Systems Unit Organize capacity building activities for learner-participants Hosting learner-participants (Students, visiting scientists, Research Fellows, Scholars etc.) Online database (from 1974) Capacity Building Activities (Short courses, training programs, study tours etc.) Seminar-series (KSI Connect) Online Learning Modules (AgED Open Courseware)
LSU Proposed CRP work plans Towards a paperless registration of learnerparticipants and excellent repository of standardized information on all aspects of capacity strengthening activities of the Institute that: - Supports data requirement of scientists as inputs to proposals - Furnishes such information to management to support review processes and the development of performance indicators.
