ABOUT US HISTORY PRODUCTS Waterman Industries of Egypt's product line covers several types of gates and valves in standard sizes for use in potable water, irrigation canals and wastewater treatment plants. With our expertise to manufacture large gates, we have successfully built gates up to 8 meters wide and up to 6.5 meters high to control water in large pumping stations and barrages. Waterman Industries of Egypt manufactures a complete line of gates including slide, sluice, roller, radial, automatic level control, weir and flap gates, stop logs and valves. The company was incorporated in Egypt in the year 1996 to manufacture Waterman Industries, Inc. line of gates and valves,. The arrangement with the USA corporation included the manufacturing of gates and valves in Egypt and exporting the product to the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the entire world including manufacturing and exporting gates to Waterman Industries, Inc. In year 2001, a new fabrication facility was constructed, to double the production capacity to respond to the tremendous demand for Waterman Industries of Egypt s products. Modern heavy duty production equipment was installed and the complete plant went into full productivity. -1-

DESIGN AND MODELING TESTING AND CALIBRATION We have the most complete line of standard designs for almost all types of gates and their accessories. Waterman design is well known as being "state of the art" and has proven over decades to be one of the best in the industry. With the advanced Waterman computerized design programs for gates, stems and lifts, our engineers are capable to analyze and design different sizes and gate configurations tailored to meet customer's requirements. Every product is assembled in the plant for testing before shipping to conform to specifications and customer's contract requirements. Test certificates are standard documents for each shipment. RAW MATERIALS Our materials and appurtenances are 100% of American and European origin; Stainless steel to ASTM A-240/276 types 304L and 316L, Seals to ASTM D-2000 and seats are extruded from UHMWPE, ASTM D-4020 in USA. -2-

RADIAL GATES Waterman radial gates are ideally suited for the control or maintenance of upstream water levels in canals or spillways, increasing storage in reservoirs, diversion of water in canals, and other uses requiring economical water control. Gate hoisting is accomplished by twin drums connected in tandem by a shaft for winding the hoisting cables simultaneously. Operation can be by manual or electrical actuator. AUTOMATIC LEVEL CONTROL GATES Waterman level control gates feature automatic operation with no power source or human influence. The simplicity of only one moving part provides for nearly maintenance-free, reliable operation for many years of service. Sizes are available for controlling flows up to 56 CMS. Waterman type A and B gates are used for controlling downstream water level providing water on a demand basis. If the downstream level tends to drop due to an increased demand the gate will automatically open to maintain the level. For a decrease in demand the opposite occurs. The type A gates are for surface (open top) applications and the type B gates are used with an orifice through a breastwall or dam, permitting a higher upstream head. Typical applications are as automatic regulators for irrigation canals under demand control, outlet gates for stormwater detention basins, wastewater treatment facility flow equalization and wetland restoration or flood control projects. Waterman Type C gate is used to control the water level upstream. It will automatically rise to pass an increase in flow or automatically lower to compensate for a reduction in flow, effectively maintaining the upstream level constant. Typical applications are as automatic regulators in irrigation canals, outlet gates for automatically controlling lake or marsh levels, flow equalization in wastewater treatment facilities and automatic bypass gates for hydro-electric forebays. -3-

SS-250 SERIES SLIDE GATES The Waterman SS-250 series slide gates feature standardized design customized to the application. Made of stainless steel grades 304 or 316, Waterman slide gates are used for open channel and wall-mounted applications in water, wastewater, sewage treatment facilities as well as irrigation canals, industrial cooling systems, canal flow control and many other uses. Waterman slide gate's rugged heavy duty design combined with UHMWPE sliding and seating surfaces provide the best of technology for strength and longevity in corrosive atmospheres. The gate's configurations shall be either selfcontained with yoke and bench stand operators, or non self contained with separate stem guides and operators with rising or non-rising stems. Waterman slide gates are custom fabricated following a standardized design to fit the exact requirements of most applications, also can be designed and manufactured for specific applications with high pressure ratings up to 10 meters of head, seating or unseating. ALUMINUM GATES Waterman fabricated aluminum gates are especially suitable for corrosion-resistant, rustproof demands. They have optimum sealing against leakage using UHMWPE sliding and seating surfaces. They can be made in different sizes for circular, square and rectangular openings to suit customer s application. -4-

WEDGED SLIDE GATE Waterman wedged gates are premier slide gates engineered for excellent sealing while providing maximum resistance to chemical corrosion. The design incorporate the use of UHMWPE sliding and seating surfaces to provide a low coefficient of sliding friction while attaining superior resistance to corrosion. They are made of type 304L or 316L stainless steel for use in unusually corrosive environments. The Waterman wedged gates may be special ordered for heads above 6 meters of seating or unseating heads. The Waterman wedged gates are furnished with standard flatback frame with guide lengths to fully support the slide in the open position. ROLLER GATES Waterman roller gates are designed for controlling water in large openings, including flood control projects, power plant cooling systems, water and sewage treatment facilities, reservoir capacity expansion, and irrigation and industrial water control projects. Waterman roller gates may be designed for upward or downward opening. Rollers are mounted on each side of the gate and operate against rails attached to the concrete or embedded members at the sides of the gate opening. J-bulb seals are often used to enhance water tightness. Operating friction is reduced by the rolling action of the rollers. Waterman roller gates are available in either overflow or breastwall type. They may be engineered to take pressure from one or both sides of the gate. Actuators for the roller gate may be of manually operated crank or handwheel type, electrically driven, or hydraulically actuated. ** Technical Data and Specification Sheets for each Product are available ** -5-

STOP LOGS Stop logs manufactured from steel, stainless steel or aluminum are often used to control flows in irrigation canals, power plant intakes and sewage treatment plants by adding or removing individual logs. A resilient seal along the bottom of each log seals on the sill plate or top of another log. Side seals are incorporated into the logs to provide for low leakage requirements. Guides are normally embedded in the concrete, but can be designed for wall mounting with anchor bolts. Stop logs are placed and removed by a log lifting device which can be operated from the deck of the structure. Manual lifting rods are often used for small logs in shallow channels. Waterman Industries of Egypt has supplied stop logs along with their guide rails for channels of up to 15 meters deep in petrochemical and power plants in the Middle East. TILTING WEIR GATES Tilting weirs are used on the crest of dams or in channels to control upstream elevations. These gates are hinged at the invert, lowering to open and raising to close. The leaf plate is reinforced with vertical and horizontal members and is operated through a torque tube across the invert or in special applications with cable or an articulating stem mounted above the weir. Seals mounted on the side plates insure tight closure. Actuation can be manual, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic. Units are custom designed to each application. -6-

WEIR GATES Waterman weir gates are downward opening slide gates, providing an overflow action to control water or other fluid levels in reservoirs, channels, aeration and settling tanks in water and wastewater treatment plants, and many other uses. Weir gates are effective for standard openings, preferably under seating heads. Guides for the slides are extended below the invert and resilient J-Seals usually are provided for additional control of leakage. Commonly constructed of stainless steel or aluminum, the gates are reinforced for long life and for continuing open/close dependability. Operation is usually accomplished through a threaded stem and lift arrangement. On those weirs where the width exceeds the height by more than twice, a tandem interconnected lift may be provided. FLAP GATES Flap gates are installed at the end of pipe lines to allow free outflow and prevent backflow. Waterman flap gates can be made of either Stainless steel (304L or 316L) or Aluminum to provide a corrosion-resistant rust-proof automatic drainage and backflow prevention system. With J-bulb neoprene adjustable seats, they assure excellent sealing against return flow. Waterman provides various shapes of flap gates depending on the shape of the opening. (round, rectangular or square openings). Flap gates can be designed flat back for wall mounted applications or flange back to mate with a pipe flange. Size ranges from 12" to 72" pipe diameters. -7-

TELESCOPING VALVES Telescoping valves are designed to control the height of liquid within a pond, reservoir, or other holding chamber. In modern sewage treatment facilities, one specific use is to control the level of effluent in settling basins. Also called Decanting Valves or Sludge Draw-off Valves, the assembly consists of a drain tube which can slip up and down inside a stationary vertical pipe. Through a lifting device, the tube is raised and lowered to maintain the desired level within the chamber. Waterman manufactures telescoping valves in a range of sizes from 4" tube diameter to 36" tube diameter. V notches or flared tube tops can be provided when requested. Also nonrising stem tube design is available. MUD VALVES Waterman Fabricated Mud Valves (Plug Drain Valves) are designed for settling basin lines, waterworks, sewage treatment plants, and similar industrial applications where sedimentateous material must be flushed from the system. Seating options are either: - Bronze to Stainless steel. - Neoprene rubber to stainless steel. The valve is provided with a flange type frame made of Stainless steel 304L or 316L and both the cover and yoke are Stainless steel. The valve is operated with a lifter equipped with a bronze lift nut, the lifter can be pedestal mounted or floorbox assembly. Opening diameter ranges from 4" to 36". -8-

SHEAR GATE VALVES Waterman Shear Gate Valves are designed for filling or emptying tanks in both water and sewage plants, for low pressure drainage lines and other similar operations.all sizes are bronze wedged and bronze seated. The wedges are removable for easy replacement. One meter of lifting handle is furnished as standard.these valves are designed for low seating pressure applications (not suitable for unseating heads). LIFTS Waterman furnishes a wide range of gate lifts for almost any gate application manufactured by all major producers. These include Rotork Exeeco, Auma and EIM Controls. Waterman Lifts are selected by specially designed Waterman computer programs to meet various criteria such as lifting loads and operational requirements. The completeness of the line insures the availability of the optimum lift selection for any particular project requirement. Lift designs include bench, pedestal, tandem, drum, side wheel, electric motor, pneumatic and hydraulic. Waterman can provide motorized actuators, stationary or portable. Motorized units are available for manual, remote and computerized control. -9-

WARRANTY STANDARD WARRANTY Merchandise is warranted against defects in material and workmanship when used in accordance with the standards and/or instructions recommended by Waterman or other written quotation of this firm. No warranty, expressed or implied, is made other than as follows: Products manufactured by WATERMAN INDUSTRIES OF EGYPT are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for eighteen (18) months after shipment or twelve (12) months after installation, whichever occurs first-such warranty can only be enforced by the original consumer purchaser. During the warranty period, the defective part will be repaired or replaced at WATERMAN INDUSTRIES OF EGYPT option with no cost to the purchaser. Measure of damage is the price of defective material only. No charges for labor or expense required to remove or to replace defective material or for any consequential damages will be allowed. Warranty excludes damage due to misuse, neglect or misapplication. Any implied warranty of merchantability of fitness is limited to the duration of this written warranty. To the extent allowed by law, neither WATERMAN INDUSTRIES OF EGYPT nor its selling dealer or agent shall have any responsibility for loss of use of the product, loss of time, commercial loss or consequential damages. In the event a warranted product is believed defective, notify your Waterman Sales Office and furnish date purchased, copy of invoice or shipping documents. DO NOT attempt repairs or returns without authorization from WATERMAN INDUSTRIES OF EGYPT. Unauthorized repairs may void warranty, and costs for unauthorized repairs performed or replacement parts purchased within the warranty period will not be reimbursed. A return authorization number must be obtained from WATERMAN INDUSTRIES OF EGYPT prior to returning any merchandise. -12-
