THE WAREHOUSE CONTAINS THE CAPITAL Total competence in Hardware and Software Made by GEBHARDT Intelligent warehouse management systems fast access, short reaction times, secure flow of goods, and transparent creation of value. When capital is stored in a warehouse in the form of merchandise, a company can t earn money from it this is the essence of what production and commercial operations experience. Parts, products and services must be available when they are needed. Production lines must have access to the parts they require at the assembly station. A commercial operation needs to deliver off-the-shelf at short notice. GEBHARDT Warehouse Management guarantees just-in-time supply capability. Modern materials-handling and warehouse equipment transforms halls into efficient distribution centers. Investment in warehouses in the form of modern technology hardware and software combined with complete integration into the value-adding chain, provide the required movement as well as transparency. This brochure illustrates the components of automated warehouse technology. Because the components work together multidimensionally, warehouse technology from GEBHARDT Foerdertechnik is multifaceted. The element that plays a part in every area is known as brainware : GEBHARDT Warehouse Management Systems connect electronic controls and material-flow computers, as well as integration into a company s IT and SAP interfaces. Important criteria in warehouses include demand-oriented inventory management and controls, time-optimised stock removal and preparation, delivery (goods to man), and the integration of warehouse and information technology. Adaptation to spacial dimensions, for example, is enabled through GEBHARDT s modular construction and a variable product range. Stock placement and removal with the stacker crane and handling in the prezone of the high-bay warehouse is effortless with the infeed and pickup modules of the materialshandling equipment. Compatibility is a guaranteed precondition. For GEBHARDT Foerdertechnik, 2007 marks 55 years of materials-handling and warehouse equipment Made in Germany. Offering customised, complete solutions from the idea to the implementation. Integrated turn-key concepts for electronic control and automation are crucial to ensuring an efficient logistics system. GEBHARDT systems are used in many sectors, including the automotive, chemicals, electronics, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and publishing industries. Tradition, quality and experience are key factors of the comprehensive expertise of GEBHARDT Foerdertechnik in internal material flow, from stock receipt to shipping. This expertise is expressed through their automated warehouse technology, which ensures that capital doesn t remain stuck in the warehouse.
TECHNOLOGY WORKING IN HARMONY GEBHARDT Warehouse Technology takes center stage. Stacker cranes accept transported goods from in-plant conveyor systems with load-handling devices, and place it in or remove it from high-bay shelves. Hardware compatibility throughout the entire process is a must. GEBHARDT Automated-Storage-and- Retrieval (ASR) cranes handle automatic placing and removal of transported material in automated small-parts storage or highbay warehouses. Aside from their sheer size, these spectacular marvels of technology are key elements in effi ciency and performance. Just like giraffes, they can reach the highest branches and the highest shelves as well, of course. Depending on the model of stacker crane, they move loads of 50 to 500 kg at device heights of up to 22 m. The stacker cranes are equipped for their specifi c tasks with various load-handling devices. The frame arms are a welded, low-torsion structural steel construction. Screw-down and guide surfaces are machined with high-precision equipment. Vulkolan-coated driving and guide rolls ensure quiet and low-friction operation. The mast is constructed of structural steel. The guide rails, made of bright-drawn material, are welded with the aid of a customdesigned gauge; this guarantees precise guidance of the carriage with the load-handling device. The shear-proof nylon fi ber coating provides long operating life and high specific tooth load. Automatic belt tighteners are standard equipment. Technical Features Rigid Single-Mast-Design for high dynamic load capacity. Two-wheel drive for high acceleration and dynamics. Low-friction bearings thanks to Vulkolan and polyamide rolls: extremely quiet operation. All components can be accessed without a ladder or platform, even in the control cabinet. One-sided design service and adjustments are possible even in narrow machine tracks. Maximum safety standards. Warehouse technology Warehouse management
Material Handling-Interfaces A warehouse without material handling equipment is like a road without any moving cars it just becomes an expensive parking lot. An automated warehouse can t function when the transported material piles up at the in- / out-feed points. GEBHARDT Foerdertechnik has the interfaces: pick-up and discharge components such as roller conveyors, transfer equipment, chain conveyors and contour controls. Everything that needs to fit together does without system interruptions! GEBHARDT Load-Handling Devices (LHD) are the ideal partner for the stacker cranes. Optimal process flow is ensured by fast and secure access when placing and removing pallets, trays or containers, even where multiple-depth shelves are concerned. With fi ve different load-handling devices, the stacker cranes can be equipped for any task. Variations are based on requirements involving the transported material, hoisting devices, and depth of shelves. Space requirements, speed and process accuracy, along with the mechanical quality, are decisive advantages of GEBHARDT Load-handling devices. Grip Technology High process safety due to positive locking. No vertical extraction-lift necessary, resulting in higher throughput. System Features and Requirements Operating System Databases Windows 2000, 2003 & NT, Vista, Novell Oracle, MySQL, & MSSQL Development Environment Delphi 6, Delphi 2007 System technology and control When combined with the warehouse management system, the controls, which are programmable from memory, ensure that stacker cranes and transport equipment run as intended. A material-flow computer monitors and guides the processes. Through visualization, system components and peripherals are always visible, and malfunctions can be quickly located. Proven system technologies in the area of operating systems and network technology form the foundation, along with time-tested standard software such as that for databases and enterprise resource planning systems. Siemens S7 PLC controls are primarily employed here. Remote maintenance is performed via VPN access, and thereby secures high equipment availability. GEBHARDT Connector The SAP interface for mysap ERP Business Suite ensures complete integration into the existing enterprise resource management system. It has been developed by GEBHARDT Fördertechnik as a SAP-certified Integration Partner. In addition, GEBHARDT COCKPIT has been produced in ABAP with the SAP development environment in the SAP system as a program for control of conveying systems. This is the basis for the integrated concept for electronic control and automation of an effi cient in-plant material-flow system, including complex high-bay warehouse concepts. GEBHARDT Connector enables direct transport control of warehouse equipment through the SAP system. The interfaces for SAP WM-LSR and LE-IDW, developed in JAVA, are the link to managing conveyor paths
