3 June 2013 PE 45: THE FIRST CONSTANT HORSE POWER HYDRAULIC PUMP: 200% speed improvement of typical 2-stage pumps ISP, a patterned Infinite Staged Pump, is a technology that delivers constant horse power. This means the job can be done faster. Most two-staged pumps are faster at lower pressure but the pump cuts over to the higher pressure, and hydraulic flow or work output slows down. Because the SPX ISP delivers constant horse power, the pressure delivery remains at its maximum. In typical working pump pressure, this means the work can be completed up to 2 to 3 times faster: an essential feature in the energy sector s projects, with wind turbines, where the job has to be done in a very short period of time. Power Team, one of the leading SPX Hydraulic Technologies product brands, has long been the market leader in high pressure hydraulic pumps due to durability, ease of use and life cycle cost benefits. The features included in the SPX PE45 in order to excel within the market and to answer operator s needs are: - Also available in an automatic version, which reveals itself in some cases up to three times faster - The possibility of continuous duty in an operating environment from -25 C to +50 C - Portability is facilitated due to a weight of 32.2 kg excluding oil. - A 5 meter long pendant control switch which is easily removable. - Improved oil filtration and a 1.8 horsepower Universal Motor which is used to cope with up to a 20 % voltage drop. - Built-in retract relief valve in the manifold set at around 700 Bar : protects both the tool & operator from any possible pressure intensification
4 June 2013 MOTION CONTROL SYSTEM: All about precision and control The SPX Motion Control system is a PLC*-based control system which allows for accurate and reliable control of multiple hydraulic cylinders to accomplish the lifting / lowering / pushing / rotating etc. of almost any size load. Especially within the construction industry, the challenge is often to move a heavy load (such as a bridge, an entire building, a roof over a football stadium...). This can best be done using hydraulic cylinders driven by a hydraulic pump. The critical aspect is the accuracy with which this motion is going to be performed. *PLC: Programmable Logic Controller Contractors are very much interested in the SPX Motion Control System because the structure is moved in a safe, smooth and synchronous way, thereby maximizing the construction sustainability. The SPX Motion Control System (MCS) offers accuracy in heavy load movement, in the magnitude of +/- 1 mm. The PLC-controlled system is a combination of digital actuation and digital control providing significant advantages such as time savings, repeatability, and extremely low internal stress in the object one is moving and automated documentation of the movement performed. - fully automated control process - vertical, horizontal and tilting movement possible - 1 to 8 circuits can be operated at a time - for single and/or double acting cylinders of any capacity - control unit and valve setup mounted on robust steel frame for safe & easy transport - protected from environmental influences by close-lipped steel enclosures - ease of operation through industrial standard 10 touch-screen - fully CE certified - tested under extreme environmental conditions (rain, -20 C).
5 June 2013 POWER TEAM MONOSTRAND STRESSING JACKS: The most durable post-tensioning jacks in the industry Power Team Monostrand Stressing Jacks are ideally suited for work on slab-on-grade where dirt, heat and high volume use take their toll. SPX post-tensioning jacks are the stressing jacks of choice for highrise and elevated work, thanks to fast return time and light weight. Post-tensioning allows reducing the volume of concrete used during the construction, as an alternative to concrete reinforcement, with more flexibility and a thinner sole. This equipment is used for anchor testing, cable-stayed bridges, tunnels bottom slab All hydraulic fluid controls are internal, therefore the operation is safer and more efficient during tensioning and retraction. The service repair is simple: the components are long lasting and easily replaced. The features included in the Power Team Monostrand Stressing Jacks are: - Available in single or double-acting models. - Standard single-acting units have a 10" stroke. Other stroke lengths are available on special order. - Dead-end seaters for production work and field work available on special order - 3" detachable seater nose assembly easily replaced with optional 6" nose assembly. - Standard double-acting units have an 8 1/2" stroke; others available on special order. - Specially designed Power Team Control Valves are available for post tensioning jacks.
