EXPERTISE IN LARGE SCALE DAIRY & LIVESTOCK FARMING & SUPPLY CHAIN Background Promar International has carried out a series of projects involving the development of large scale agricultural and food chain projects. Last year, we worked in over 40 countries around the world. The main consulting services we provide to clients on these projects include the following: a comprehensive range of financial and technical advisory services to farm businesses feasibility planning and implementation work assistance to individual farmers and/or groups of farmers sector mapping and benchmarking analysis market research and supply chain analysis strategic planning and business development environmental advice, consulting and research analysis: the development of low carbon supply chains life cycle analysis, GHG emissions anaerobic digestion and food/agricultural waste We have been involved in large scale agricultural projects in SE Asia, East Africa, the Middle East, Russia and the FSU, West Africa and Latin America. We believe there are seven key factors for successful dairy & livestock farming, almost regardless of where in the world the actual farm is, are as follows: Quality and quantity of feed Herd fertility, including getting cows back in calf every 12 to 14 months Quality genetics and breed type Animal health Cow environment Overall management staffing/systems/financial/records Identifying, finding, retaining and building a sustainable market for its products - in fact without this, the above are all but meaningless

We are not just specialists in one confined area, but have a full rounded knowledge and experience of all the aspects of dairy/livestock farming, processing and marketing. It is easy to think a project is just about the built environment, but in fact all the aspects above will impact on the overall designs and successful outcome. An in-depth understanding of each of these, and how they impact upon each other, is critical for the successful planning and implementation of the project in the long term. The ethos of our farm consultancy business has always been driven from a view of profit benefit for the farm business. One of our key measures is the return on capital investment, enabling us to assess the merits of different levels of potential capital spend in an objective manner to meet the overall objectives of the business. We also work extensively across the UK and the rest of the EU, too. We are part of Genus plc www.genusplc.com the largest animal genetics company in the world with offices in some 30 countries around the world and conducting business in another 40 on a regular basis. The diagram below shows where we have an international presence alongside our colleagues at Genus:

Velcourt believes that farming and rural business must be profitable. The personal approach ensures that Velcourt can deliver the best possible returns, while maintaining responsible, sustainable and environmentally-sensitive farming methods. Key services they provide include: UK Farm Management The regionally-based teams provide fully managed solutions, with optional financial inputs, where the plan is always agreed with the client International Farm Management From individual specialist advisers to complete full-management teams, Velcourt deal with holdings of virtually any size, anywhere in the world.
