Surface Preparation: Concrete Surfaces: The Surface must be dry, sound and oil and grease free. Concrete should be at least 4 weeks old and have a moisture of led than 4%. Remove all concrete surface laitance by mechanical means. Cleaning by shot blasting, sand blasting, high water pressure blasting or grinding is recommended. Please contact your local AKS representative if you have any queries. Steel Substrates: All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from contamination. The surface should be assessed and treated in accordance with ISO 8504. Bare steel Cleanliness: Blast cleaning to min. SA 2 ½ (ISO 8501 1:2007). Roughness: using abrasives suitable to achieve Grade Medium G (50-85 µm, Ry5) (ISO 8503-2). Mixing: AKS -PS 2 Component Fill AKS-PS resin in a suitable, clean container and start mixing with a high-speed drill with mixing plates (not less than 500 U / min). AKS-PS hardener gradually and slowly and mix at least 4 minutes intensively until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Then repot into a clean container and mix again briefly. AKS -PS 3 Component After producing a homogeneous mixture of resin and hardener component, add the powder component slowly and mix for a further 2 minutes until a smooth, creamy mortar arises. Please note: Longer mixing times shorten the processing time. With the addition of the powder component is expected to dust. Seite 3
Application instructions: Applying by Hand: AKS -PS 3 Component Apply AKS -PS 3 Component to a thickness of about 4 mm evenly with a steel trowel to a suitably prepared and levelled substrate. For substrates with open voids and pores, a scratch coat is to be provided. With multi-layer systems a waiting time of 3 hours (depending on temperature) is required. Trowel marks can be removed with steel float immediately or by a rubbing sponge after 2-3 hours. AKS -PS 2 Component Apply AKS -PS 2 Component to a thickness of 2 mm evenly by brush or roller to a suitably prepared and levelled surface. With multi-layer systems is a waiting time of about 3 hours (depending on temperature) is required. Mechanical Application: AKS-PS 3 Component mortar can be applied with a suitable screw pump (mortar sprayer) by spraying prepared and levelled surface uniformly. Details on request AKS-PS 2 K can be applied evenly with a suitable piston pump (Paint Sprayer) to a prepared and levelled substrate. Details on request Condition during application: The substrate temperature must be at during processing and the hardening process at least 8 C and a maximum of 30 C. The relative humidity should not exceed 75%. The material temperature should be at least 8 C and not exceed 28 C. During processing and the hardening the surfaces should be protected from intense sunlight and rain. Cleaning The working tools can be cleaned with a suitable cleaner (Acetone) Disposal: Material residues, Shipping containers and mixing vessels must be disposed of according to regulations Waste disposal number of contaminated packaging Nr. 150110 Waste disposal number of used and hardened Products Nr. 080501 Seite 4
