What is a perm? Moisture permeability is a material s ability to allow water vapor to pass through it. It is measured in perms, or permeance (ASTM E-96) - The perm in US measurement is defined as 1 grain of water vapor per hour, per square foot, per inch of mercury Concrete moisture on the job site can be measured either by Calcium Chloride testing (ASTM F-1869) or a Relative Humidity Probe (ASTM 2170) 5
