R Raised Basement Mechanical Installation Guide
Ensure masonry work is correct. If recessed, the depth must be 14 inches deep unless otherwise specified for a custom application. Width and length may vary depending on cabin size and air mechanical placement. For above-ground installation, slab must be level. If slab is unlevel or pitched for liquid run-off, any gaps under the basement beam structure must be filled in with concrete after the basement is assembled. WARNING: No vehicles may be put on basement until the filled in concrete is completely cured. Any damages to the structure or grates resulting from unlevel floors and/or failure to grout under basement will void the warranty and will be repaired at full cost to the installer. Concrete is required. Wood or steel shims are not acceptable. Page 1
Join together side supports (A) and central support beams (B) using the provided bolts tightening only one nut onto the bolt. The second nut will be used to fasten cross straps later (Page 6). NOTE: Side and rear supports have the floor channel that accepts wall panels later. Central beams do not. NOTE: Make sure all vertical supports inside the support beams are facing the same direction. Position according to the layout. Fix the side beam to the rear beam as shown using provided bolts. 3 Use leveling bolts to level basement as shown. WARNING: Leveling bolts and threaded inserts are provided only for convenience during construction of the basement. Any gaps under the basement side or center supports must be filled in with concrete prior to any vehicle or heavy equipment being brought onto the basement. (See page 1 for disclaimer and voided warranty information) Page 3
Fix central beams (B) with rear support beam (C) as shown using provided bolts. Use leveling bolts to level basement as shown. WARNING: Leveling bolts and threaded inserts are provided only for convenience during construction of the basement. Any gaps under the basement side or center supports must be filled in with concrete prior to any vehicle or heavy equipment being brought onto the basement. (See page 1 for disclaimer and voided warranty information) Page 4
Install cross straps (D) fixing them to the central beams (B) and the side support beams using a second nut. NOTE: Depending on basement dimensions, there may be more cross straps. Follow fastening instructions above. Page 5
Fix the remaining side beams (A) to the rear beam (B) and the front beam (E) (has no floor track). Use leveling bolts to level basement as shown. 3 4 Square the entire footprint of basement by measuring corner to corner. Tighten all bolts. 5 6 If ramps are provided, attach ramps where central beams are (drilling bolt holes is required). On 14 wide cabins, side beams of ramps may be inside the overall external dimension of basement. Use provided grates to determine exact location of ramp s ide supports. WARNING: Leveling bolts and threaded inserts are provided only for convenience during construction of the basement. Any gaps under the basement side or center supports must be filled in with concrete prior to any vehicle or heavy equipment being brought onto the basement. (See page 1 for disclaimer and voided warranty information) Page 6
Place EvenFlo draft balancing pans in between supports a. For extra wide cabins, diamond plate steel runners are placed on in the space between the last central beam and the side beam. Open Evenflo draft balancing pans as shown. a. Considering where the mechanical group will be placed, open the vanes more when further away from the group and open the vanes less when closer to the group in order to achieve the most even airflow. 3 Filters are not needed between beams on ramp(s). NOTE: Adjust/re-adjust as necessary when testing airflow during fire-up. Page 7
Install filters between support beams. a. Filters are not needed between beams on ramp(s) Page 8
Install grates as shown and diamond plate runners in spaces between last center support beam and side support beam (if necessary) Install Max Weight plates on lower portion of center main door and center of interior back wall. Page 9
