POSITION SUMMARY - Assists in directing and coordinating activities of the university alumni organization under the leadership and in coordination with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates and/or volunteers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Communicates with alumni and former students and assists with information requests. 2. Assists in engaging the HPU Alumni Association Board of Directors with the purpose of staying in touch with their decade classmates and geographic regions to carry out the planning of events and initiatives that secure greater involvement and pride among all University alumni and friends. 3. Distributes and collects alumni scholarship forms and sends them to the panel of judges for selection. 4. Builds networking opportunities for alumni and current students. 5. Works to grow and maintain the annual memberships within the Alumni Association. 6. Establishes and builds relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally and regionally. 7. Maintains regular communication about current news and events with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, e-newsletter, social media and print publications. 8. Organizes and conducts alumni functions, events and regional alumni meetings 9. Plans and carries out of all functions for the annual Homecoming event, engaging the help of the Development Office, Facility Services and volunteers. 10. Represents the university at denominational meetings and gatherings. 11. Serves, as directed, as the liaison for a parent advisory council, geographical alumni groups, and the Alumni Association Board of Directors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited University or two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word and commonly used Internet browsers. Must be able to effectively use Raiser s Edge database software within forty five days of employment. Must be at least 21 years of age and maintain a valid Texas driver's license to drive any vehicle on behalf of the University.
