LESSONS LEARNED The exchange with local actors has allowed us to understand the link that communities establish between local development and climate change; The participatory and holistic approach adopted for the REDD+ process has facilitated the participation, engagement and involvement of stakeholders; The set up of civil society platforms (CNODD, CNJ, CF-REDD+ ) has facilitated their participation and involvement in a effective and coordinated manner; The need to have a realistic National REDD+ Strategy demands the financing of pilot activities on the ground in favor of the actors that are strongly mobilized and that express high expectations in this regard; The set up of thematic sectoral groups facilitate the contribution from various sectors and the integration of REDD+ in the politics and programs of such sectors; The actors involved in the procurement chain have seen their capacities be reinforced which is resulting in a more efficient procurement process; The experience acquired through the contracting of international and national consulting firms have resulted in an increased management capacity of the coordination team The actors of the financial management and procurement chains have taken ownership of the national and World Bank procedures and are working more efficiently
