The I-69 System in Texas 1,076 system miles including I-69E, I-69C, I-69W, I-369 and I-2 One-third of Texas population lives in the 35 counties on the I-69 Routes Already a very important freight corridor and connecting route Includes some long rural sections through low population areas Connects population centers, seaports, distribution points, and border ports of entry Houston Metro 6.4 million RG Valley & Laredo 2.1 million Mexico Rio Grande 1.7 million Corpus Christi Metro 427,000 Texarkana Metro 144,000 Victoria Metro 122,000 Alliance for I-69 Texas 3

I-69 Funding Program I-69 in Texas is being developed as a series of incremental upgrades to existing highways US 59, US 77, US 281, US 84 37 projects scheduled for funding by Texas DOT Texas is facing a major shortfall in highway funding Texas will need to continue the I-69 upgrade program and increased transportation funding will be needed to ultimately string smaller projects together TxDOT I-69 FUNDING PROGRAM $742 Million in Funded Projects Alliance for I-69 Texas 5

2012 Average Daily Truck Counts Traffic Relying on Facilities at Current Level of Service 2,000 + 6,000 + 8,000 + 4,000 + 8,000 + 11

Projected 2032 Average Daily Truck Counts Does Not Reflect Traffic That Will Move From Other Routes to I-69 After Expected Corridor Upgrades 6,000 + 8,000 + 8,000 + 4,000 + TxDOT projects that average daily traffic will increase by 50% or more throughout the corridor by 2032. The majority of the route will be carrying more than 6,000 trucks a day by that year. Parts of the route currently not meeting interstate standards will be carrying interstate-level freight volumes. 6,000 + 8,000 + 12

2010 Combined Freight Tonnage by County TxDOT data shows significant total freight tonnage along I-69, particularly in the Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville, Corpus Christi and Houston areas. 14
