The indomitable spirit of Pantnagar AAAP, the annual alumni summit of Pantnagar, was conceived in 2008 as an effort to celebrate the increasing recognition of Pantnagar fraternity in bringing a sizeable change in the agriculture sector. Pantnagar has been a beacon of light for the entire nation and has been one of the pioneers of green revolution in India. The pre-eminence that the college has achieved among agriculture colleges in the world has been possible due to the commitment and efforts of the entire Pantnagarians community- students, alumni, faculty and staff. It is incumbent therefore on all of us to contribute to efforts to ensure that the college retains its pre-eminent position in the years to come. AAAP, one of the revered alumni conclaves of this country, aims at spotting and facilitating good work done by Pantnagar community for the betterment of agriculture and farming community and sensitize tomorrow s leaders about the new avenues and associated activities. I once again emphasize the salient objectives of the association to garner better understanding of the association. We have already conducted five gathering with great bonhomie in Delhi and with 2500 plus registered members, the events were truly memorable for every Pantnagarians. This association throws myriad opportunities like brainstorming current affairs, alumni search, job posting, scholarship program- AAAP Ratna for undergraduate st year agriculture students from Pantnagar, and many other exciting things. The AAAP platform presented a unique opportunity for several generations of former students and industry leaders to interact and exchange thoughts, ideas, memories and experiences. We intend to take this event to a higher level on a continuous basis in future, and solicit your active participation to take this association amongst the best in the industry. Our association represents diverse members from various facets of Agri business. We have members ranging from Ag input, banking, consultancy and service industry throwing light on every aspect and nuances of agri business. This makes our AAAP a unique platform catering need for every pass outs from Pantnagar or any working professional looking for right guidance in this ever challenging corporate world. I take this platform to invite every Pantnagarians to be a part of this AAAP and get enlightened and relive old memories from its diverse background. I hope all of you will contribute with a renewed sense of commitment towards our Agriculture College and our esteemed university. Let us all be part of this assembly N.K.Arora President AAAP (Batch 972, ID 6068)
I am happy to learn that Agri Alumni Association of Pantnagar (AAAP) is organizing its 6th Annual Meeting on 2st September 203 at NASC, New Delhi. Gathering of alumni brings back the interesting memories of old days spent while studying on the university campus. I hope that this occasion will provide a platform to graduating students for developing relations with their seniors and also help in exchanging ideas, thoughts, memories and experiences among alumni of several batches. Pantnagar University is recognized as a role model and beacon of light in agriculture sector due to the contribution of its alumni nationally as well as globally. The strong legacy and rich traditions of Pantnagar University continue to nurture excellence and inspiration to take up the challenges and responsibilities confronting the agriculture sector. I am of the opinion that such meetings facilitate discussions on contemporary issues facing the agricultural sector of the country. I hope the alumni will use this platform to share their reminiscences as well as dedicate their time in strengthening the road map of the university in its continued success in contributing significantly in attaining food and nutrition security for the nation. On this occasion, I wish the annual meet of AAAP a grand success. Alok Kumar Jain Vice-Chancellor On a sunny afternoon on November 7, 960, the dream of creating the first agriculture university of the nation finally became a reality after many challenges. Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University was officially inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, first prime minister of the nation. Speaking to over 0,000 people, some of whom had walked long distances to attend, Pt. Nehru dedicated the new university to the common people it was intended to serve. Later, in 972, the university was renamed Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to honor the contributions of Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Over the years, the university has been vividly acknowledged to have substantially contributed in ushering Green Revolution in the country. More than that, the contributions of the university in generating human resources, that were identified and picked up to serve national and international agriculture, truly justifies the vision with which the university was created and largely pays back the investment made in its creation. The alumni of the university hold the crown that has to shift to equally worthy newer generations, who are aware of the bottom line of excellence designed after decades of perseverance, dedication and hard work. I am sure, GBPUAT would continue to be privileged in getting the respect and attention of its alumni and the rest who matter to its unstinted growth during the next 50 years and beyond. Dr. J. Kumar Dean, College of Agriculture
Dear AAAP Friends and Colleagues: It was a great honor and privilege to speak at the AAAP dinner last November. I was touched with the love and affection your showered upon me that evening. While our reunion was short, I met there many old friends from my years (960-64) at Pantnagar but also made many new friends. Since I have been invited to speak on Global Food Security and Agricultural Trade at a conference, September 9-20 in New Delhi, I gladly accepted Narinder K. Arora's invitation to speak at the AAAP event on September 2. With the passage of the Food Security Bill by the Indian Parliament this week, food security is a hot topic and I look forward to sharing my thought with you. I am looking forward to see you all next month. Best wishes! Ambassador Islam A. Siddiqui Chief Agricultural Negotiator Office of the U.S. Trade Representative Executive Office of the President
