Global State of Enterprise Mobility 2016 FOREWORD Now in its third year, this report, compiled from responses to our annual survey, is designed to determine exactly what is driving the global market for enterprise mobility, across the entire spectrum of professionals who operate in the space. Mihaela Biti Programme Director Enterprise Mobility Exchange The reason behind this research initiative, following the success of our previous reports, is to keep the mobile community in-tune with the developments and trends that have occurred over the past year in relation to the technologies that comprise enterprise mobility, and where business priorities should lie moving into 2016 and beyond. In keeping with the past two years investment trends, mobile applications are the dominant solution within the market. Despite difficulties adapting dated legacy systems and convincing senior decision makers to embrace the changes mobility introduces to an organisation, we have noticed notable increase in budgetary allocations for mobile solutions, as well as in the average deal sizes for solution providers, compared to 2015. The transformative and disruptive mobile technologies which are forcing enterprises to adapt their overall business strategies will continue their momentum moving into 2016. With increased flexibility, access and better user experience, security is fast becoming a top priority. Given the plethora of devices, operating systems, solution providers and overall mobility commoditisation how will technology leaders meet their employees needs and offer mobile access to corporate systems, data and information they crave, in order to maximise the potential for productivity and the competitive advantages that follow? Read on to find out where practitioners plan to be making investments and what changes solution providers and analysts expect in the coming year. CONTACT +44 (0) 20 7368 9484 3

CONCLUSION Mihaela Biti Programme Director Enterprise Mobility Exchange It is now obvious that enterprise mobility is catching up with its older brother in customer facing mobility. Whilst still battling some of the old demons such as stakeholder buy-in and integration with legacy systems, enterprise mobility is now a key discussion and debate point in boardrooms across the world and more of the, once, unreachable budget is allocated to these new and exciting initiatives. The benefits are being noticed, and who would say no to, increased productivity, better customer experience, increased overall operational efficiency this justifies greater investment and relaxes those risk adverse executives to embrace the opportunities. When the enterprise fully embraces mobility, the benefits will be immeasurable. Align that potential with the fact that many experts believe the mobile age is still only just getting started, and we can begin to see a future emerging in which even the most trivial and insignificant lapses in human ability or decision making become obsolete. Could this be a classic case of spend to save? However as boards relax and technologies are being implemented, employee expectations in the workplace increase pressure and demand more: more access, more flexibility and a better user experience. In other words, over the past year the practitioners in enterprise mobility have gone from 50miles an hour to 100miles an hour, add in IoT and augmented reality and the ride is only set to get faster. Welcome to the fast lane of the digital evolution, as you are leading the mobility initiatives we have reserved you the driver seat!
