Student Intern Program Guidelines (for Student Interns) We are committed to providing a program for interns that is educational and designed to provide the student intern with an understanding of the practical applications of his/her classroom learning and skills that can be used in multiple employment settings. To that end, a student intern: Must receive academic credit for the student internship and provide verification of the credits he/she will be receiving from an academic institution; Agrees that he/she will not receive any wages for the time he/she spends in the internship; Will work under close supervision of existing staff, and will not be displacing regular employees; and Is not being promised a job at the conclusion of the internship.

Student Internship in Marketing and Communications: Our marketing and communications professionals are responsible for: Building game scripts. Managing promotional teams. Developing marketing initiatives. Managing public relations. Coordinating contests and conducting between-inning promotions. Acting as an on-field host. Scheduling and accompanying players or mascots on community appearances. Coordinating and participating in community and membership programs. Coordinating and filling community donation requests. Monitoring and maintaining social media outlets. Coordinating and editing the website and e-newsletter. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in marketing and communications, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop marketing and communications skills such as: Event planning and execution. Human capital management and delegation. Promotional and brand development. Public speaking and customer service. Hosting and emceeing. Developing content for marketing communications and public relations. Donation and charitable giving as a means of branding and development of goodwill. Student Internship in Client Services: Our client service professionals are responsible for: Assisting management of each of the 100 plus marketing partnership accounts by making phone calls, emailing, face to face meetings, etc. Active liaison to ensure marketing partners needs are being met at all times o Assisting with client artwork approvals, arranging for client hospitality, retrieve all necessary game day information and items (first pitch, PSA s, giveaway items, banners, etc.) Responsible for ensuring each client s night at the ballpark is set up. Assisting with sponsorship inventory tracking while learning the sales process and system. Taking pictures during games and events to fulfill proof of performances for all clients. Ensuring Proof of Performances are completed correctly. Assist in creating a Proof of Performance packet for each client. This packet will include factual happenings during the season, pictures of the sponsored event/theme, and examples of the sponsored event/theme. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in client services, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop client services skills such as: Assist in the execution of contracts and client relations for both sponsors and select group events. Assist the Group Sales Manager as the event coordinator for select group theme nights. Assist in deliveries to corporate clients and selected group events throughout the season. Student Internship in Production: Our production professionals are responsible for: Providing sound and visual effects during games and events. Shooting and editing video. Graphic design. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in production and design, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop production and design skills such as: Operating sound and video equipment. Developing video content. Optimizing graphic designs for use in various media. Logistics and coordination of sound and video for game/event. Training on production and design specific software platforms, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier and InDesign. Maximizing storage life and preservation of media. Communications through social media, website, and newsletter skills, including customer interaction and content creation for maximizing branding and development of goodwill.

Student Internship in Operations (Food and Beverage) Our food and beverage operations professionals are responsible for: Operating food and beverage, catering and hospitality functions. Managing inventory. Supervising and training concession staff. Providing financial reporting and analysis of concession operations. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in operations, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop operations skills such as: Finances and accounting for food and beverage operations. Concession and catering operation logistics. Food and beverage coordination and management, including food and beverage inventorying and maintenance. Food and beverage preparation, including safe food and beverage handling requirements. Preparing and understanding food and beverage related financial reports and analysis. Handling customer service interactions.

Student Internship in Operations (Box Office) Our operations professionals are responsible for: Managing the box office, including ticket sales, group and picnic outings, ticket packages and employee comps. Handling customer service issues. Up-selling tickets and related revenue-generating opportunities. Managing transmittal of tickets and ticket coupons. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in operations, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop operations skills such as: Revenue generation and finances from ticket sales. Sales techniques. Handling customer service interactions.

Student Internship in Operations (Retail/Merchandising) Our retail operations professionals are responsible for: Selecting, ordering and managing inventory. Managing the souvenir shop. Supervising and training game day staff. Providing reporting and analysis of souvenir shop financials. Handling customer service issues. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in retail operations, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop retail operations skills such as: Retail store management. Finances and accounting from merchandise sales. Preparing and understanding reports and analysis of merchandising financials. Handling customer service interactions.

Student Internship in Operations (Facilities) Our facilities operations professionals are responsible for: Managing the grounds crew. Managing all stadium operations. Maintaining the field. Maintaining the facilities. Providing facilities support to marketing and communications and to team. Coordinate with vendors for field and stadium management for non-baseball events. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in facilities operations, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop facilities operations skills such as: Mechanical maintenance of stadium and facilities. Appropriate techniques and equipment for crowd control and managing pedestrian traffic. Electrical and plumbing work. Selection and interaction with mechanical, cleaning and maintenance vendors. Waste removal and maintenance. Safety and hazard control.

Student Internship in Sales Our sales professionals are responsible for generating new business revenue, primarily through group ticket, season ticket and partial season ticket plans. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in facilities operations, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop sales skills such as: Productive sales techniques. Designing and conducting sales presentations. Public speaking. Handling customer service issues. Basic financial reporting and analysis. Use of computer software for sales management and reporting.

Student Internship in Hospitality The main duty of a hospitality assistant is to ensure that the suite level is properly maintained and presentable for guests on a nightly basis. As an extension of both the sales and food & beverage departments, providing a first rate experience and quality customer service to suite holders and their guests is the primary goal at each event. As an extension of a student intern s classroom training in hospitality, the student intern will shadow regular employees and perform assigned tasks that will help the student intern develop skills such as: Coordinating suite catering orders and inventory.
