CO2 OFFSETTING: Reforestation - Parchi per Kyoto The commitments Estimation of the CO2 emissions - caused by local transferring of guests and staff, energy consumption and paper consumption for promotional activities - related to significant events organized during the preparation phase. The first event was the 3 days conference International Participants Meeting held in Milan in October 2012. The emissions amounted to 25 tons of CO2 and have been offset through a forestry project in Parco Nord Milano planting about 34 trees. How? A detailed analysis of GHG emissions associated with the events has been performed by Ernst&Young.. The followed procedure is being confirmed by AzzeroCO2. Warranty CO2-absorbing trees in permanent forests generates carbon credits: one credit is attributed for each sequestered ton of CO2. All credits are Verified Emissions Reductions (VERs) and all projects are verified by independent bodies, in accordance with the Ethical Standard Parchi per Kyoto (onlus onlus) ) and the Verified Carbon Standard. The Book of credits allows to track the offsets operations and guarantee transparency. 9
