GREEN DRAGON BOWMEN 47 th "500" Portsmouth The Ron Young Memorial Shoot Sunday 12 th November 2017 The Nobel School, Mobbsbury Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG2 0HS RESULTS Judges: Mrs Tracey Jackson, Mr Richard Pilkington & Mr Gary Bellamy Lady Paramount: Mrs Diane Bacon Lord Paramount: Mr John Bacon So, our 3rd competition in the indoor location of The Nobel School, Stevenage is done and dusted and the final results are in But, firstly, thanks to everyone who came along to our 2017 "500" Portsmouth Shoot - whether you were helping in some way, shooting or just watching. Once again, the attendance was excellent and there were only a few remaining spaces in the final session which was lovely to see. We were once again inundated with people doing the double with over 30 archers staying for more than one session... and even one crazy person who did all 3 - but, we still don't offer a "Triple" medal... sorry! The main downside of the day was the fact that the hot drinks machine did not accept the shiny new 1 coins... that was a shame, but I hope those of you who wanted a hot drink managed to find some loose change so you could top up your coffee/tea/hot choccy levels. Hot drinks situation aside, we do hope you all had an enjoyable day - and well done to all the "Newbies" who took on the challenge of their first competition. Our wholehearted thanks is doused lovingly upon our sparkly and regal judges: Richard, Tracey and Gary. They kept us all in line in their usual magnificent way! Thanks goes out to the lovely John & Diane, our Lord & Lady Paramount; to Carl for helping me with the scoring etc; to everyone who helped with Raffle tickets; to those of you who donated cakes/raffle prizes and/or helped with the lugging of / set-up of / take-down of the shooting range over the weekend; and to Denise for being the lady with fingers in lots of pies before and throughout the day and arranging all of the "background" stuff. For those of you I've not named but who gave up your time in one way or another... THANK YOU!!! A shout-out goes to Aim4Sport who sponsored the shoot again this year but who were, unfortunately, unable to have their mobile shop present on the day. Lastly, as always, my thanks goes out to all of the "Session C-ers", other archers, club members & spectators who stayed to the very end and to those who packed up the last few bits and pieces for us and pulled up every last scrap of lo-tack masking tape from the flooring... thank you!!! So, basically Thanks to everyone! See you in May for the 2018 Windsor!? - Jo Sheppard
