To assure the SPF status of your research animal colonies, it is essential that you understand the sources, pathobiology, diagnosis and control of pathogens and other adventitious infectious agents that may cause research interference. We have summarized this important information in infectious agent Technical Sheets, which you can view by visiting http://www.criver.com/info/disease_sheets. *This report has been electronically signed by laboratory personnel. The name of the individual who approved these results appears in the header of this service report. All services are performed in accordance with and subject to General Terms and Conditions of Sale found in the Charles River Laboratories-Research Models and Services catalogue and on the back of invoices. Remarks: - = Negative, +/- = Equivocal; + = Positive. An equivocal result indicates weak amplification detected by real-time PCR; copy number estimated to be very low. Nucleic Acid Recovery Control (NRC)/Inhibition Control: A low copy exogenous nucleic acid was added to sample lysis prior to nucleic acid isolation to serve as both a control to monitor for nucleic acid recovery and PCR inhibition. This control also monitors reverse transcription for RNA virus assays. Nucleic acid recovery and PCR inhibition is monitored by a PCR assay specific for the NRC template. Unless otherwise stated, the control results passed for this accession. Infectious Disease PCR Helicobacter hepaticus has been associated with proliferative typhlocolitis in immunodeficient mice and with chronic hepatitis in some strains of inbred mice. If this report contains an unexpected result, we strongly recommend that you call our Technical Services Dept (800.338.9680) before taking any action. Additional or alternative testing may be essential to reaching an accurate diagnosis. At your request, we will be glad to retest positive samples or newly submitted samples up to the number of positives in this accession. *This report has been electronically signed by laboratory personnel.
