EXAMPLE OF RATING AND RIQ
Example of Rating and RIQ Two shipments of different products, different equipment, different routing from different locations at the same rail station. 1) Corn Gluten from Plant in Falls City, NE to Chicken Farm in Bridgeton, NJ Uses Covered Hopper Cars 2) Corn Syrup from Syrup Plant in Falls City, NE to Beverage Plant infreehold, NJ Uses Tank Cars 1 Itinerary from West to East via many Junctions 5 Routes available Different Rates and Times- All are Rule-11 (2 leg) shipments Demonstrate Rate setup by equipment capacity RIQ capabilities (Rate and Route) to Return Multiple Routes Weighted Costs Configurable Result Screen Route Code Returned
Routing Options from Falls City, NE to New Jersey
Rail Example Legacy Itinerary Legs CHGO BNSF $3000 CSXT $5500 Falls City, NE NS $ 5600 Freehold, NJ BNSF $1500 KCITY NS $7600 UP $1500 UP $2500 ESTL CSXT $5700 In 6.3.3, handling time is now part of routing. In rail, the user can now model dwell time at a junction. Routing Options BNSF(KCITY)NS UP(KCITY)NS BNSF(CHGO)CSXT BNSF(CHGO)NS UP(ESTL)CSXT

Rate Offerings Constrained by Commodity
Rating Changes in 6.3.2 In 6.3 base, flex fields were added to many objects. In 6.3.2, Rate Basis Items were added to rate based on selected equipment group flex fields. The result is that rates can now be based on the attributes of the equipment instead of being based on the equipment group.
Rating Requirements Rating as found in Rail Rate Documents Rate by Volume Capacity Rate by Weight Capacity Rate By Gross Rail Load Rate by Dimension of Equipment Rate by a Categorical Attribute Private vs RR, AAR Car Type, Mechanical Designation Rate by a COMBINATION of the Above
Notes for Equipment Rating Constraints 1) Equipment is a Tank Car Mechanical Designation = T or AAR1 = T 2) Shipper Owned or Leased Mark Owner Cat = B 3) There are 4 ranges of LIQUID CAPACITY. 1) <= 18,9999 2) <= 21,999 3) (between 22,000 and 27,500 4) > 27,500
HF Corn Syrup in PVT Tank cars with capacity less than 18,999 gal Old New IF EQUIPMENT SHIP UNIT LINE ITEM STCC = BULLDOG.2046115 AND AAR CAR TYPE (1) = T AND MARK OWNER CAT = B AND LIQUID CAPACITY <= 18,999 GAL Equipment From UMLER That Satisfies Conditions
BNSF Rate Costs using New RBIs that reference the new flex fields
Modified XSL for Equipment Group to use new Flex Fields The use and display of the flex fields is a user decision. User can name the fields and can edit the XSL labels.
Rail Rule 11 and RIQ
Rail Rule 11 and RIQ User-Preference parameter allows easy switching RIQ UI Screens. Primary use cases shipped are rail and ocean. Modified Rule-11 combination table allows simplified rate loading and maintenance. Beyond Flags allow rates to be used for Rule-11. New Network RIQ (Rate and Route) for non primary route rating is useful for rail. Shows multiple rates for an itinerary and simplifies itinerary setup. Rule-11 route codes are still not enabled for OM planning and for network route selection.
RIQ User Preference Selects which screens to be used for RIQ Input and Output Selects which Logic Configuration is to be used for RIQ

Customized Rail RIQ Input Screen Only relevant Geo Input Fields
RIQ Input Location Profile RIQ can now handle multiple source locations User can define profiles of locations. Location Refnum can contain the products produced.
Customized Rail RIQ Result Screen Custom Title Columns arranged by relevant information
RIQ Expanded Results 32
Review of New Rail Related RIQ Capabilities New Rate Basis allows rating by equipment attributes. RIQ (Network Rate and Route) allows multiple returns per itinerary. A Location Profile allows user to perform one search with multiple sources. New Rail related fields are added to the result screen. The result screen is configurable and is a user preference. Weighted costs are configurable and this allows switching between dry and liquid measures.
EXAMPLE OF VISIBILITY AND DEMURRAGE
Executive Summary A scenario has been set up to represent a fictitious company that receives and ships by rail. The company has implemented the features in OTM that allow Visibility to inbound and outbound rail traffic On hand inventory at company locations as well as customer locations. The ability to calculate demurrage for RR equipment where the company is paying demurrage The ability to back charge suppliers who over-ship and bunch cars that cause excess demurrage. The ability to charge customers who hold onto company rail equipment longer than is allowed in the contract
Scenario Chemical Company, Conway AR Receives Covered Hoppers of Salt From Louisiana Salt Company, Breaux Bridge, LA Tank Cars of Sulfuric Acid From Riverside Acids, St Gabriel, LA Box Cars Paper Bags From El Dorado Paper Bag, El Dorado,AK Ships Covered Hoppers of Sodium Bisulphate Nampa Food Processors, Nampa, ID Tank Cars of Hydrochloric Acid Green River Chemicals, Green River, WY

Inbound Visibility - Empty Cars Pipeline of shipper managed empty cars returning By product assignment Inventory of empty cars on hand By last product contained Demurrage for Empty RR Controlled Cars for Loading
Empty Rail Equipment This list is based on the Equipment Table. It is only for assets that are owned or leased that the user controls. The user will determine which cars are empty by setting a status value to Empty for selected events. (Empty Release, Pull, Pass, Arrive but not placement) The user will determine which cars are loaded by setting the status value to Load for certain events. (Load Release but not any others.) This is an Equipment Screen Set.
Empty Cars on Hand The screen set setup uses a Default Criteria as a filter. This is a Demurrage Transaction Screen Set.
Review of New Tracking and Demurrage Capabilities In this presentation users have learned to Use Screen Sets and the Menu Manager to customize the display of information for visibility. Customize the Buy Shipment Results to create a Pipeline of inbound or outbound rail cars. Customize the Demurrage Transaction Results to display inventory at their facilities and at customer facilities. How to use Demurrage to Evaluate and Pay RR charges that are due Create back-charges for shippers who over-ship Create charges for customers who hang onto shipper controlled assets after the allowed time for unloading.
RAILINC PARTNERSHIP
Railinc Partnership Railinc is owned by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) which is owned by the 7 Class I Railroads. (BNSF,CN, CPRS, CSXT, NS, UP, KCS) Railinc is the clearinghouse for financial settlement between the railroads. Railinc is the source for shortline originated CLM messages and the distribution for all CLM messages. OTM has developed an XML integrateion with Railinc so that Railinc can send an XML integration in OTM format instead of the CLM, or EDI Message formats. Railinc is the source of static data for stations.
