Wipotec Weigh Cells - exceptional in precision and speed Electro Magnetic Force Restoration (EMFR) Technically mature and much superior to traditional systems, the Wipotec Weigh Cells which are used are a guarantee of the highest accuracy and production speeds. They are based on the principle of Electro Magnetic Force Restoration. The basic principle can be compared with a simple beam balance. On one side of the weighing beam (coil arm) is the weight which causes the coil attached to the other side of the weighing beam to want to move out of the magnetic field. An optical detection system sees every - even very minimum - variation and reports this to a high-precision position controller, which regulates the coil current so that the weighing beam remains in equilibrium. This all takes place within milliseconds so that the maximum deviation is just a few nanometers. The force caused by the placed-on weight is thus compensated for by the coil current. The strength of the current is thereby pro portional to the weight. The force-proportional current is measured by a resistor, converted to a digital signal by an analog-to-digital converter and then further processed in a signal-processor system for direct output as a digital weight value.
