Executive Overview Oracle Real-Time Decisions (Oracle RTD) solves the challenges faced in trying to optimize business processes using analytical techniques such as business rules, data mining, or statistics. With Oracle RTD, business can improve your overall business responsiveness with optimized and personalized customer interactions flows. By learning from every single interaction and adjusting your processes in real-time, you will always take the best course of action and optimize the value of each opportunity. And by automating the business intelligence process life cycle, Oracle RTD provides the foundation for business process optimization, transforming your enterprise with business processes that self-adjust based on close-loop information. Using Oracle RTD, process stakeholders express business logic to be executed within the context of a process. This decision logic combines rules and self-learning predictive models to recommend in real-time the optimal course of action based on your specific performance objectives. Integrated with ease into your different business channels, whether it s on the web, in the contact center, or at the point-of-sale, Oracle RTD is the platform for delivering reusable process optimization to all parts of your enterprise through a scalable, highperformance service oriented architecture. 2

Oracle s Product Strategy Oracle Real-Time Decision has been an integral part of the Oracle Business Intelligence portfolio for the past 8 years, and has seen significant and continuous investment. Here is the outline of the enhancements made in the previous three releases: Oracle Real-Time Decisions Platform and Applications 3.0 Released in March 2009, this is the most widely deployed version of Real-Time Decisions and integrated with the Siebel Intelligent Offer Generation. Oracle has been enhancing this version till December 2014 adding new platform and application capabilities. RTD Base Application for Marketing and Contact Center RTD Decision Manager for Marketing Optimization Batch Learning Dynamic Eligibility Rules Performance and Scalability improvements including Multi-Threaded Learning server Learning Graphs Support on Weblogic, JBOSS and Websphere Support of Oracle and SQL Server for storing RTD application data Oracle R Integration Oracle Real-Time Decisions Platform and Applications 11.1.1.x Released in August 2010, this release was the first integrated stack of Real-Time Decisions with Oracle Business Intelligence and the Fusion Middleware. Oracle Business Intelligence based Model snapshot reporting Cluster Communication using Web Services Monitoring and Management using Oracle Enterprise Manager Oracle Real-Time Decisions Platform and Applications 3.2 Released in July 2014, driven by strong customer feedback, Oracle Real-Time Decisions Platform and Applications 3.2 was built upon on the 3.0 product line. This release includes the enhancements from 11.1.1.x series. Specifically: Oracle Business Intelligence based Decision Analytics providing Marketing dashboards for Campaign Effectiveness, Offer and Placement analytics Cluster Communication using Web Services More dynamic configuration in Decision Manager for Performance Goals, Segmentation and Eligibility Rules. 3

Future Investment Oracle plans to continue to invest significantly in building products for Next Best Action and Real-time Decision Optimization. Specifically, the following investments are planned 1. Oracle Real-Time Decisions Platform and Applications, on top of release 3.2 a. Upgraded DB support (Oracle 12c, SQL Server 2014 SP1) b. Enhanced Browser support (IE11) c. Weblogic 12c, WebSphere 8.5.5 support d. REST based APIs to connect to SaaS and call center applications e. Connectors to data sources like Hadoop and NOSQL sources f. Decision Manager enhancements 2. Certification of Real Time Decisions 3.2 on the Oracle Cloud leveraging Oracle Java Cloud Service and Oracle Database as a Service. 3. Better integration with Oracle Marketing and Data Cloud and CX applications. Oracle s Support Policy Oracle Real Time Decisions has an active installed base. Oracle recognizes this considerable investment and remains committed to the long-term support of this product. Oracle s Lifetime Support Policy Oracle s Lifetime Support Policy defines the support levels and dates for Oracle products. Consider deployment on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Oracle plans to offer multiple deployment options for Decision Platform on the Oracle Cloud. Deploying on Oracle Cloud enables customers to reap all the benefits of the software without having to maintain and operate infrastructure. Cloud deployments can facilitate an integrated marketing and decision optimization solution alongside cloud SaaS applications. Conclusion Oracle plans to continue to invest in Oracle Real Time Decisions and The Next Best Offer and Decision Optimization products. These products will continue to evolve both onpremises and in the Oracle Cloud.
