Step 2: Proof of Concept Bringing your data into Power BI The Fast Start Business Analytics with Power BI Proof of Concept section will take your data into Power BI, should you decide to provide a sample or access to it. A sample database can be used if data is inaccessible. This section typically runs for 16 hours. Three different scenarios are typical in a Power BI POC: Scenario 1: Your organization already has a data warehouse and or data marts in place or perhaps your department wants to explore some data that isn t in the corporate store yet. Provided with a sample, we can prototype either the migration of part of that data to Azure Database (DB) or Azure Data Warehouse (DW) or the direct exploration of your on-premises data with a hybrid architecture enabled by Power BI Enterprise Gateway. A data model, reports and a dashboard can then be built on top of that. Scenario 2: Your organization has a data source that matches a Solution Template. If that is the case, we can help you setup a working end-to-end BI solution, from data, to ETL to model and reports and dashboards and even extend it to meet some of your additional requirements. Solution Templates are an enterprise ready, open source, extensible solution, that allow you to very quickly deploy and gain insights in a matter of hours. More information about Solution Templates and the supported data sources can be found here. Scenario 3: Your organization might be interested in one of our Partner Solutions. Our certified partners have a wealth of experience across a wide number of industries and technologies and have built turn-key, vertical, solutions, using Power BI, that can be setup very quickly, with your data. More info about existing partner solutions can be found here. Summary of deliverables In summary, the service will include the following: Depending of the scenario that you choose, these are common deliverables: Migration of a sample of your data to Azure or setup of the Enterprise Gateway or setup of a Solution Template or initial deployment of a Partner Solution A data model A set of meaningful visualizations along with reports and a dashboard A roadmap for production including an estimate on costs and timeline
