DESIGN APPROACH The series are based on proven design of previously built vessels and the ongoing improvement of vessels under construction. Highly valued customer feedback has proven to be a solid basis for this optimization process. Special attention has been paid to the underwater body, resulting in low resistance and good seakeeping hull forms, combined with excellent carrying capabilities. Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis and Model Testing techniques are used for verification and optimisation. Finite Element analysis serve the structural analysis. Our Design Your Tool 3D engineering facilitates routing and lay outs. Specialised design calculations are performed inhouse and verified by real time trial data (e.g. Sea keeping analysis, DP performance analysis, vibration and Noise analysis etc.)

Safety; Safer Deck Operation developments in the form of manipulator cranes, cargo shifting and stowage arrangements, automated loading and un-loading etc. can easily be implemented in our designs. Environment; all designs comply with Clean Class requirement as set out by the various classification societies. Latest legislation is closely monitored and applied. The Offshore Series include first class suppliers and components. In close consultancy with the Owners alternative makes and components can be considered and applied. Vessels can be delivered complete from our Damen Yards or ordered as prefabricated shipbuilding kit in combination with assistance training and backup, guaranteeing Damen Shipyards quality standards.

PROPULSION CONCEPTS Several Propulsion concepts are available pending the required bollard pull of the vessel. For the bigger powers father-son (hybrid) engine configurations will be applied, for optimal redundancy and fuel economy. Detailed fuel consumption analysis can be made available based on client specified operational profiles showing the most economic solution over a period of time. CARGO SYSTEMS The Damen Offshore Series can be fitted with all relevant cargo systems required for the down stream oil process. DECK LAY-OUT AHT Winches either hydraulically (low pressure) or electrically driven are situated in enclosed spaces protected from the environment; Winch layouts will be designed in close consultancy with the owner and winch manufacturer and may comprise of double drum waterfall configurations to triple or quadruple drum layouts complete with auxiliary winches; Towing pins, shark jaws, anti spinning devices, manipulator arms etc. can be offered as per client wishes; At both sides the deck is guarded by plated sturdy guard rails separating the deck from the walk ways; Safe havens are provided at regular intervals Tugger winches are fitted, sufficient guide rollers are provided for guidance of the wire; Cargo stations for in-take and discharge of liquid cargoes are located at appropriate locations and optimized for ease of operation;
