Inform, Empower and Engage Series Training@Work Sessions Talent and Human Capital Strategy s Inform, Empower and Engage series provides individual sessions intended to promote continuous learning and awareness of topics relevant to our work and community. As part of the series, we are pleased to offer the sessions noted below during this fiscal year. Some of these sessions are offered by Talent & Human Capital Strategy Team members and the others are brought to Simmons through our partnership with our retirement plan provider, TIAA-CREF, and our Employee Assistance Program provider, AllOne Health. We have also been able to expand our offerings through our collaboration with the Colleges of the Fenway, whereby sessions are offered jointly to the COF faculty and staff. We hope you find sessions of interest to you in this array of offerings we have planned for this year. Halfway? Already? Retirement has a way of creeping up on people. Before you know it, you'll be depending on all the money you saved and invested. If you're half way through the journey panicking, and don't. There's still time! Give your retirement savings a checkup. TIAA-CREF's workshop leader will provide information to help you determine where you need to be in your retirement savings, and how to get back on track if you're behind: Find out how much you should be saving Discover different investment vehicles and how they can work together to help you reach your retirement goals Learn what's competing for your retirement savings Dealing with Difficult People: Enhancing Your Interpersonal Skills When: Monday, April 25, 2016 (2:00 pm 3:30 pm) Where: Kotzen Room 1 and 2 From time to time, we all have to deal with people and situations that we find challenging. What we want to say and what we should say are often two very different things. The challenge is to control our own response and utilize strategies that help diffuse and resolve the situation. Participants in this seminar will earn and practice specific techniques for dealing with difficult people and situations. 4
