VGCL s key targets and action plans (2013 2018)

Recruiting at least 2 million new members (10 millions by 2018) Over 90% of workplaces employing at least 30 workers are unionised. 100% of full-time union officials, at least 70% of the part-time union officials participate in the training, re-training and education on both unionism and skills for trade union works. 100% of the key leaders and women trade union officials participate in trainings on gender equality and integration of gender equality in the trade union activities 100% of state-owned and at least 65% of non-state owned & foreign invested enterprises have CBAs

Job creation for workers is one of the main objectives of the socio-economic development policy of Vietnam, especially in the context of Vietnam s deeper integration into the world economy. Vietnam is one of the first two countries in the world was selected by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to deploy UN s instruments to integrate employment and decent work program. In Vietnam, since 2001 up to now, the DWCP has been developed and implemented, the program has been effectively integrated with other national programs for jobs creation and contributed to economic restructuring, labor structure, provided job training with job creation for many thousands of employees each year. In recent years, along with the achievements of the economy, employment problems of Vietnamese workers have seen encouraging results, annually, jobs were created for 1.5 to 1.7 million workers, reducing the urban unemployment rate to 3.51% in 2014.
