Orchestration across multiple providers with SDN, NFV & LSO

Transformational changes with SDN, NFV & LSO Advances in technology, specifically SDN & NFV, provide the ability to significantly transform our networks. Benefits to Communication Service Providers: Agility: Faster service enablement Lower CAPEX/OPEX. And enables customers to : Activate the required network & computing services in real-time On-Demand, Self-service, pay-per-use Customer Service Portal for Quote & Order Self Service Orchestration SDN enabled agile network core IaaS, Cloud, BoD, Usage based billing NFV, Service chaining, vcpe Reduced network costs & faster delivery

API Store for multi-domain orchestration PCCW Global s External API store provides partners the APIs for enabling Multi-Domain Orchestration. The External APIs comply to TM Forum Standards. Quotation APIs for connectivity services (L2- Ethernet & L3 IP-VPN) are available. More products are planned to be added gradually.

On-Demand Orchestration of Multi-Domain Services Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) Online Order Auto-Provisioning Point-to-Point Service Cloud Connect Cloud Connect Multi-Point Service Restoration on Demand Restoration on Demand Video Cloud Connect Restoration on Demand 17

Demonstration - CPQ Function: Quick Quote QuickQuote comprises of ready-to-use information for PCCW Global' s entire international connectivity network and extends this information into the palm of your hands via an intuitive web and mobile app. It also connects with underline last-mile service providers using APIs. Benefits Quote response time cut from weeks & days down to a few minutes. The price is always up-to-date. Reduce repetition and lower staff attrition. Staff doesn t have to contact partners for the updated price every time. Features Customers get updated End-to-End quotation (including on-net service, Local Loop & Cross Connect) via the Service Portal or external API for selected services in real-time. The system can trigger API calls to the selected partners to get offnet components prices like Local Loop and Cross Connect in realtime. Customer can use excel template or an API call to fetch multiple quotes online in real-time.

Demonstration - IPLC/DES Restoration On-Demand Benefits Enable PCCW Global customers to restore the IPLC/DES services that are being impacted by cable events Enhanced customer network availability without committed spare bandwidth Pay only the period customers use Features On-line order and auto provisioning as soon as request accepted Offer daily charge Customer control of period use Customer Billing Repaired Fall back and to Original ready for Path Fallback X PCCWG Tx Network Restoration Path Customer Cable cut Cable repairing repaired

Demonstration - Cloud Connect: Secure Connection to Cloud on Demand Benefits Enable MPLS VPN and Ethernet customers to connect selected Cloud Providers Customers make use of existing connections with PCCW Global s networks PCCW Global become the hub for customers to connect any Cloud Providers Features On-line Ordering and Auto-provisioning instantly On-demand Private Connection to PCCW Global Cloud and Third Party Clouds Monthly, Daily and Hourly charge PCCW Global Customer Service Portal Enterprise A Enterprise B PCCW Global MPLS Network MPLS VPN Switched Ethernet Cloud Connect PCCWG Iaas Cloud Applications and Services

Self-Service Orchestration Alliance (showcase) MEF 3.0 Service Fulfillment and Activation across multi-operator networks Create a L3VPN service spanning at least 3 Operators, terminating on a VM in a cloud service and integrate SD-WAN Use the L3VPN service for cloud services (e.g. stream video to a user device) Use LSO Innovation Platform to develop SOF functionalities and applications The setup is being turned into permanent MEF sandbox project, open to all MEF members. 24

Conclusions Market Drivers New digital business models are emerging due to convergence of Cloud, Social, Mobility, Information, & IoT. Requiring elastic network services. CSP s require transformational changes with SDN, NFV & LSO - to improve Network Control, Agility & Operational efficiency. Roadmap SDN, NFV, LSO enable - On-line Quote & Order, Self service orchestration, BW on Demand, vcpe, Service Chaining PCCW Global is showcasing some of these services at MEF17 PoC. Challenges Inter domain, Inter Carrier integration challenges remain to be overcome Standards driven Eastbound APIs are a must to enable LSO in an inter-carrier environment. 25
