Master of Science in Environmental Science
OBJECTIVE OF THE MAEd PROGRAM The Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) program provides the student with the skills to manage multi-disciplinary programs and projects dealing with the management of waste materials, pollution prevention activities associated with water, air, and soil, and the developing and implementation of effective environmental management systems. In addition, it provides an instructional background that will enable graduates to utilize a scientific approach to study natural ecological processes and to address current and future regional and/or worldwide environment-related issues. Graduates of the Program are expected to: Have a basic understanding of the behaviour and interactions of the physical, chemical, and biological components of the environment; Be knowledgeable about the historical perspectives of humans interaction with the environment; Be sources of information and, likewise, also be able to know when and where to get additional assistance to help address complex environmental issues; Be knowledgeable about environmental regulations, safety requirements, and related issues; Be knowledgeable about pathway analysis, environmental toxicology, and risk assessment; and Be able to communicate with the public as well as with technical peers.

GET 798 THESIS WRITING 1 (PROPOSAL) This is an orientation phase during which the students will be guided through the beginning of the research process as they complete their thesis proposals. During this period, the students will work with their respective thesis advisers. The required outputs will consist of: an Introduction, Review of Related Literature, and Methodology; which they will present to a panel for critiquing. ( units). GTW 799 Thesis Writing GET 799 THESIS WRITING 2 In this phase, the students are expected to have completed all the chapters of their manuscript. They will continue to modify or correct these following the guidelines or practices of their field. Once the manuscript is considered satisfactory by their adviser, they may proceed to their final defense. ( units)
