Audience Characteristics Robotics Online is the official website of Robotic Industries Association, a trade group with more than 250 corporate members. This page of the media kit provides guidance on audience characteristics based on RIA s positioning to members and website statistics. What is Robotic Industries Association? RIA has corporate members and exists to improve market conditions for companies in the robotics industry. Like a trade journal, Robotics Online connects users with suppliers by publishing material of special interest to users. What makes RIA (and its website) special is its role to create standards, collect and distribute industry statistics, and deliver networking and marketing value to help members build sales. Every trade association must hold an annual meeting and RIA brings together more than 300 executives and corporate level individuals for its members only Robotics Industry Forum. These industry leaders and their staff influence the very foundation of the industry. RIA is the only North American trade association dedicated solely to the robotics industry. Robotics Online Statistics According to Google Analytics, Robotics Online attracts about 25% of its visits from Direct Traffic which in part is driven by member logins. Search engine traffic accounts for 56% of the site s traffic. The rest comes from referring sites. In 2010, more than 171,000 unique visitors came to Robotics Online and the trend is up 10% at the time of this writing (September 2011). The robotics industry is filled with engineers. Robotics Online does not require visitors to share their demographics, so we cannot precisely categorize them, however we can look at member titles. Most key contacts are executives and corporate level managers. Engineering degrees are common. One of the busiest sections on Robotics Online is the Beginners Guide. Sessions for beginners often have the largest attendance at RIA events. From this, we infer that new robot users represent a major segment of Robotics Online visitors. Robotics Online home page is ranked by Google Analytics as its number one page of top content. Search pages are the next most popular sections of the site. Advertisers can now sponsor the search pages including, Find a Product, Find a Company, and Find a Service (call for details). Much of the purchasing activity on Robotics Online goes to safety standards. Safety and training are emphasized on the site. Audience Profile Summary Most visitors to Robotics Online (>50%) find it through organic searches, especially Google which alone delivered 48% of the site s traffic in 2010. Visitors are engineers and users of automation as well as RIA members. Many are interested in safety and most use the search functions on Robotics Online. www.robotics.org Technical Specifications Advertising Banners & Buttons Submission of banners must comply to the following requirements. Files not adhering to the specifications will be rejected. Banner dimensions: 728 x 90 Button dimensions: 150 x 150 72 dpi JPG, GIF, SWF File size must not exceed 50 kb for JPG or GIF files, 40 kb for SWF files. Files must be RGB When submitting artwork you will be asked to supply a website address to where the banner should link when clicked. The address must be an active website page. GIF files may be animated. Requirements for Flash files will be described separately. Requirements for Submitting Flash Banners & Buttons Flash (SWF) banners and buttons submitted to the website must include the common clicktag code for linking to a website. The code below should be included on all buttons within the Flash ad. Characters are case sensitive. on (release) { geturl(_root.clicktag, _blank ); } Including the _root is not a requirement for clicktag, but is preferred so as Flash buttons in multiple layers of the advertisement will click correctly.
