Geoff Thompson. Geoff joined WMAA in 1995. Membership helps me meet and talk to other people in this industry and I have made many business contacts and friendships. Over the years, it has also helped me greatly with technical knowledge and market intelligence. WMAA has great publications, such as Inside, which I read from cover to cover. The articles are well written and relevant to the industry. I find there is much less advertorial content than in other industry publications. WMAA also runs great conferences, seminars and workshops that are completely relevant to the waste industry. James Stanfield. WMAA member for over 10 years. I joined WMAA because I saw membership as an opportunity to participate in discussions, surveys and consultation on relevant issues. Membership keeps me up-to-date and abreast of what is happening in the industry. Journals, conferences and webinars (conducted by WMAA) are all very relevant and a good source of information. Also, the networking is excellent it gives you a real sense of belonging, other members relate to you and there is a sense of commonality. Mike McConnell is the National Product Manager Projects, at ch Engineering, based in Victoria. For over ten years, ch Engineering has been a WMAA Supplier Member. Mike joined WMAA, through ch, to gain exposure to the industry as a whole, develop a network of contacts that would be of value to ch and to gain more knowledge of the industry and trends. In the last five years, Mike has been heavily involved in WMAA activities, such as the National Transfer Station Conference and ch s sponsorship of the Transfer Stations biennial award. Through these involvements, ch has gained a greater exposure to the industry.
