Customer snapshot : Municipality afdd for energy and cost savings Customer need Cost justify needed upgrade to building controls in 13 municipal buildings covering 903,000 f 2 Building Analytics scope Software will monitor 1,200 pieces of equipment and 12,000+ data points Results Conservative savings estimate based on experience and industry research showed savings from ongoing commissioning driven by Building Analytics to generate a positive return on the capital upgrades to the Building Automation System 21

Customer snapshot : Research laboratory Energy and cost savings Customer need Ability to diagnose and pin-point system faults to address installation issues. Building Analytics solution Identified and recommended repairs to several major problems in leaking and malfunctioning cooling valves in three AHUs, and leaking heating coil valves in nearly 200 VAV boxes. Prioritized actions enabled operations team to fix the most wasteful leaks first. Additional repair work accelerates retro-commissioning and automates verification of energy initiatives. Results 219,000 projected annual savings. Additionally, the customer maintains a digital history of the building performance. 22

Customer snapshot : Office building Take advantage of facility utility incentives Customer need Demonstrated M&V energy savings to justify a utility incentive program. Building Analytics solution Building management committed to six low-cost energy conservation measures (EMC) for pre- and post-emc monitoring. Diagnostics and reporting discovered efficiency opportunities. Other issues identified are corrected as they occur for additional savings. Results Projected annual savings: 46,000 57,420, PLUS between 17,600 33,700 in utility incentive program awards. Management is assured that the system maintenance achieves the desired objectives. 23

Customer snapshot : Small community center Commissioning rooftop units Customer need Ongoing commissioning on newly installed rooftop units. Building Analytics solution Data from five RTUs units were connected to the cloud-based system for monitoring and diagnostics. Analytic findings identified several maintenance issues, including all RTUs running continuously, simultaneous calls for heating and cooling, and shortcycling compressors. Specific and prioritized recommendations to fix these issues were made. Results Projected annual savings: 4,000 representing a 23% return on investment on commissioning activities. Building investments protected and tracked over the long term. 24

Customer snapshot : Large Utility Pilot program to lower energy demand Customer need Reduce overall demand by focusing on helping its customers reduce their demand. Building Analytics solution Using Building Analytics, Energy Profiler Online (EPO) and Resource Advisor, the solution will span multiple stages of the energy management life cycle for the selected pilot participants. Results from the reports will identify energy conservation measures that can be implemented to drive down usage. Results Projected annual savings$75,000 per company enrolled in the pilot program based on cost savings and incentives. Ability to provide measurement and verification for the reduction in demand. 25

Customer snapshot : Manufacturing facility Maintaining comfort while ensuring the operating efficiency Customer need Cut energy waste, deploy energy efficiency solutions, and raise employee awareness. Building Analytics solution Data from the building systems were connected to the cloud-based system for monitoring and diagnostics every 5 minutes. Sample findings: some compressors were short-cycling, causing premature compressor failure. And some units wasted energy due to set points that did not take building occupancy into consideration. Results Annual savings: $9,000 in avoidable energy costs related to HVAC ops. In addition, the number of maintenance incidents went down by 29 percent, and comfort incidents decreased by 33 percent. 26
