Both REBCO's 25000 Series and 2000 Series Windows feature a special thermal insulation in extruded aluminum perimeters and mullions which creates a defensive barrier against heat loss and condensation. When combined with insulating glass, there is a marked reduction in condensation on both glazing frames. Muntin bars shall be coped to create a mortised joint which shall be argon-electric welded to insure maximum strength. WEATHER-STRIP The operating vent shall be double weather-stripped with an extruded vinyl. The weather-strip shall be uninterrupted and secured within extruded raceways at the interior and exterior points of contact with the surrounding frame. HARDWARE Projected windows shall be provided with two 4-bar hinge assemblies securely fastened to the frame and vent, and operating in a track provided with an adjustable nylon friction feature. The cam handles shall be manufactured from white bronze and secured with stainless steel fasteners. Casement windows shall be supported by butt hinges manufactured from white bronze and secured with stainless fasteners. Casements shall have white bronze locking handles with concealed strikes. The cavity size of the thermal break shall be.437" wide,.350" high and shall have a throat opening of at least.188" wide. Residential size cavities will not be permitted. All aluminum surfaces in contact with masonry or steel shall be insulated therefrom by pressure sensitive tape, zinc chromate primer, lacquer or bituminous paint. SERIES 25000 (cont.) 2-1/2" WINDOW SECTIONS 11-501 For 1" Glass 25-658 For 5/8" Glass POLY-WEJ GLAZING SYSTEM For maximum weather-tightness, a continuous toe bead or heel bead of sealant should be installed INSTALLATION SEQUENCE: 1) Windows shall be inspected prior in installation of units into prepared openings on the job site, making sure no damages occurred in transportation, or in storage. All butt and miter joints must be sealed prior to glazing. Sash and framing members are to be checked prior to glazing to make sure openings are square, plum and secure to maintain face and edge clearance. All ventilators and operating sash must be properly adjusted and glazed in the closed position. Surfaces that the tape will contact should be wiped with a suitable solvent to remove any oil deposits, dirt, dust, loose mortar, or any other foreign matter. 2) REBCO, Inc. recommends applying Tremco's Polyshim II Tape, uniformly recessed 1/32" below the site line of the window. Please follow the glazing tape/gasket installation instructions found on Tremco's website: www.tremcosealants.com 3) Be sure to daub butted tape joints with sealant to ensure a continuous exterior seal. 4) Apply corner bead of compatible sealant at each corner. 5) Place setting blocks per glass manufacturers requirements. 6) Set glass. Press firmly into tape. 7) Install removable stop. 8) Install Poly-Wej Gasket provided by REBCO, Inc. Good glazing practices prevail.
