REAL LIFE CHURCH JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator Department: Campus Reports To: Stewardship/First Step Pastor FLSA Status: Non Exempt, Part Time Date: July 2017 SUMMARY OF PURPOSE OF JOB : To develop a volunteer placement / follow up strategy for all campuses of Real Life Church. Other duties may be assigned. Volunteer Responsibilities Works closely with Volunteer champs to ensure consistency with connecting, training, and retaining volunteers. Volunteer Placement/Follow up: Responsible for campus wide volunteer placement/follow up Oversee follow up of all departments and their placement efforts Evaluate placement follow up success by department
Follow up on the outcomes of these evaluations to identify problems, brainstorm improvements, implement improvement strategies and observe/evaluate outcome of implementation of new strategies Coordinate with multi sites regarding recruitment needs, strategies and implementation Tracking Progress: Prepare weekly/monthly reports on overdue items in RLC and review with Volunteer Champion Lead departments to maintain data integrity Run metrics reports, assimilation reports and 30 day follow up reports to evaluate progress of our volunteer follow up for Champs Follow up with Dept. Leaders/Volunteer Champion/Staff and work to identify and implement improvements needed based on results reported Duplicate and provide oversight of these practices for new campuses Trainings: Available to consult with departments and volunteer leaders to evaluate current trainings and identify other trainings needed Identify and create training standards and processes Retention: Consult with Supervisor regarding retention efforts of departments Support of Ministries/Development: Provide ongoing support to Dept. Leaders needed for problem solving and development of volunteer processes First Step/Connection Responsibilities General: Serve as the primary point of contact for the First Step environment; managing departmental emails/communications, phone calls, and relevant functions of RLC s database (CCB) Help to recruit and train volunteers to assist with certain administrative tasks (ie., phone calls, data entry, etc.) Help to recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to assist the execution of First Step May be required to be at First Step to help with execution. Environment Preparation, Execution, and Follow up: Coordinate logistics of our First Step environment including scheduling, building reservations, child care, food/drink orders, printed materials, purchasing, etc. Promptly and reliably manage communications and database processes related to First Step to aid in our engagement pathway Maintain up to date records on departmental metrics
Campus Wide Event Volunteer Coordination Main point for applications coming through the system to be placed, monitored and closed Keeping in touch with leads to make sure that all communications are being sent out in a timely manner Attend event meetings SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No staff, but may oversee and/or direct the work volunteers. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be willing to work evenings and Sundays as required for executing our First Step environment and our Volunteer Appreciation events. First Step happens 1 Sunday a month and our Volunteer Appreciation event happens once a calendar year. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate through various social media sites. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required for this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
