Reimagining Reusable Resources TM www.regenis.net
Rugged, American-Built Digesters What if waste was history: something we told our grandkids about like the horse and buggy? At Regenis, it s our mission to reimagine reusable resources, (RE) creating a new (GENESIS) cycle of products for agricultural and industrial users. We are the only company in the Western United States authorized to build and operate the patented, DVO, Inc. Two-Stage Mixed Plug Flow anaerobic digester, so family farms, industrial food processors and cities can put their best ecological foot forward with the only digester designed and built in the U.S.A. Our virtuous cycle leaves nothing to waste while generating more clean electricity and reusable water and lower levels of air emissions than any other digester on the market. Our anaerobic digesters generate more clean biogas than any other system.
From Effluent To Energy Zero waste encourages a life cycle of reuse for every product, similar to the way resources are used in nature. We replicate that closed loop system for farms, industrial users and municipal waste systems because our digesters repurpose every component in the waste stream. Methane (an extremely potent greenhouse gas) from decaying organic material is captured and converted into clean electricity called biogas, which can be used to run the entire system and power an entire farm or industrial plant. Even better, excess clean energy can be sold to the utility at a profit, allowing hundreds of local families to reduce their carbon footprint. Because digesters significantly reduce emissions, those reductions can generate value as carbon credits - which are similar to stocks in a publicly traded carbon marketplace--and be sold to commercial or individual users trying to compensate for their own environmental impact. Our technology also makes it possible to turn digester biogas into renewable natural gas, which can be sold as a much cleaner alternative to power truck fleets and cars. Whether its preventing odors, air emissions and water pollution; saving taxpayers millions of dollars in new landfill costs and waste hauling fees; or recycling precious water supplies, our digesters are on the cutting edge of sustainability.
Regenis digesters kill off the greatest amount of bacteria and pathogens, resulting in cleaner water for reuse.
Fiscally Sound If you operate a food processing factory or a municipal waste system; or run a dairy, poultry or swine farm, here are some of the benefits of a digester: Selling Renewable Electricity/ Biogas To Utilities Reducing Electric/Gas Bills Selling Renewable Energy Credits (REC s) Like Stocks On A Tradable Market Producing Renewable Natural Gas For Truck Fleets Using Dried Solids Post-Digestion For Clean, Odor Free Animal Bedding Selling Nutrient-Rich Post-Digestion Solids As Peat Moss Replacement To Nurseries and Composters Selling Nitrogen And Phosphorous Bio-fertilizers Or Using It For Crops Reducing Manure Handling Costs Reducing Tipping Fees Increasing Crop Yields
Since we turned on the switch, it s been operating every day and generates $25,000 per month just from the clean electricity we sell back to our local utility. Jon Van Nieuwenhuyzen - Werkhoven Dairy/Qualco Energy
Using Regenis digesters, we can replace unsustainable, high-carbon fossil fuels, imported chemical fertilizers, and peat moss. Dan Evans - Promus Energy
Water Wise Water is a precious resource we need to protect and use efficiently. Inside the Regenisbuilt system, pathogens like e-coli are killed, leaving behind cleaner, nutrient-rich water for crop irrigation and better protecting local watersheds from runoff or accidental spills. Additionally, our next generation nutrient recovery system removes phosphorous and nitrogen from effluent, resulting in a PH balanced liquid which can be re-used on farms, industrial food processing or municipal waste systems. Thanks to our research partners, Washington State University and, DVO, Inc., we re even getting closer to the day when parched communities can re-use this clean water in their taps and wastewater systems.
Is Regenis Right For You? Anaerobic digesters began as a solution for dairy farms looking to generate additional revenue through electricity sales while complying with air and water environmental regulations and Regenis is proud to have built more dairy digesters than any company in the Western United States. Today, those benefits are no longer limited to just dairy farms. We can custom build our digester systems for a number of users including: Swine Farms Poultry Farms Food Processing Facilities Municipal Waste Plants Learn More At Our Website: www.regenis.net
Regenis built the largest single dairy digester in the world.
Reliable Team of Experts Every single digester Regenis has built is operational, not only because we have the most experienced team of builders in the Western U.S. or because we build the only American digester designed to be more efficient in output and lower in power use, but because of our expertise operating and maintaining the digesters we build. Since 2002, we ve already reduced 200,000 tones of carbon emissions per year. That s why we were awarded as one of Washington s Top 50 Green Companies in 2013. Our team of electricians, plumbers and construction experts works hand-inhand with our grant writers, permitting experts and management team to ensure a smooth construction process. Additionally, as a bonded contractor, we guarantee our financing is secure to finish any project we start. We ve built more digesters in the Western United States than any other company, and 100% of our digesters are running. Unlike some construction companies around the world that build digesters as part of their larger portfolio, building digesters is what we do at Regenis, and it s why many of our clients have opted to continue their partnership with us well after the ribbon cutting for the project is done.
Our Story Having already been well known in NW Washington for building farm equipment, general contracting, metal fabrication and commercial/industrial plumbing, Andgar co-owners Andy Mellema and Gary Van Loo were presented with a new challenge in 2002. A local dairy farmer was considering a relatively new technology to capture methane from cow manure and turn it into biogas for electricity to send to the power grid. The concept of turning farm economics on its head and being able to live their own values of stewardship for the planet excited Andy and Gary so much, they went back to the farmer with the designs, diagrams and cost estimates, and then they did something very unusual for most companies-they invested their own money in the project. The partnership paid off, and over the last 12 years a dairy in Lynden, Washington has been reliably producing electricity from the only 100% American designed and built digester on the planet. Meanwhile, Andgar completed another 12 digester projects in Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho. Regenis spun off from Andgar in 2013 to focus solely on building anaerobic digesters, but will always remain true to the values of honesty, integrity, reliability and service to our customers, partners and employees.
Over the last 12 years, Regenis is the only company we ve entrusted to build our digester design because they ve been true to their word and their handshake still means something. Steve Dvorak - CEO, DVO, Inc.
