For small boxes and large bales: One-stop service CONTAINER PACKING AND SERVICE CENTRE BRIEF PROFILE HAMBURGER HAFEN UND LOGISTIK AG HHLA s container segment can do more than tranship metal boxes. Whether it s for cartons of beverage cans, canisters of chemicals, heavy printing presses or massive agricultural machinery, there s our Packing and Service Centre. In the centre of the Port of Hamburg, on the HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai site, this provides virtually the entire range of services for general cargoes and containers, serving all three of HHLA s container terminals. Experienced staff look after approximately 2,500 boxes per month here, or altogether more than 450,000 tons per year. One essential service for customers is expert, seaworthy packing, plus unloading of standard and special containers. Naturally, that also covers cargo transport between terminals and handling heavy cargoes. The Packing and Service Centre also attends to packaging damage, fumigation and degassing, surveyors inspections and customs formalities or in other words, every thing that needs to be done on the spot.

Suitable equipment for loading on the spot Burchardkai s advantageous location HHLA s long-established Container Terminal Burchardkai handled the fi rst liner service with container gantry cranes back in 1968. Sheds and special storage facilities covering 20,000 m² are available here at the port s largest terminal for hazardous goods of almost all classes. Goods on which duty has not been paid can be accepted into the bonded warehouse immediately. This service for all standard and special containers, directly on the terminal, provides decisive cost and time advantages for the transport chain. The location also especially facilitates environmentally friendly waterborne transport of containers between the Hamburg terminals. On-site sidings for up to 30 railcars enable large quantities to be transhipped directly into or out of containers without special storage. The direct link with the autobahn A7 also simplifi es delivery or pick up. For both incoming and outgoing traffi c, experts with many years experience are familiar with goods of all types, including transit cargoes. Surveying and stowing professionally, they devise individual transport and loading solutions. Where required, seaworthy packing and preservation are offered right on site. Burchardkai s trimodal facilities ensure the best connections to all destinations within and outside the port
