Medi-Therm Precise. Easy. Versatile. Medi-Therm Hyper/Hypothermia System
Patient warming and cooling are often critical factors in achieving positive outcomes. The Stryker Medi-Therm system can be used in all areas of the hospital: Coronary Care Unit Operating Room Recovery Room Emergency Department Medical/Surgical Floor Burn Unit
Medi-Therm Precise. Easy. Versatile. Patient warming and cooling are often critical factors in achieving positive outcomes. Stryker now provides the optimal choice for patient temperature management with precision, safety and versatility in an easy-to-use system. Medi-Therm is Precise. Patient temperature is maintained throughout therapy through a state-of-the-art microprocessor control. Separate heating and cooling reservoirs deliver rapid thermal response. The rate-controlled warming option allows caregivers to progressively increase temperature and reliably stabilize patient temperature at a selected set point. Medi-Therm is Easy. Medi-Therm provides maintenance-free, rate-controlled warming. Rapid initiation means you can begin therapy in minutes. The intuitive control panel makes operation simple and straight-forward. While automated modes require less intervention, the system s safeguards provide assurance that therapy proceeds as planned. Medi-Therm is Versatile. Medi-Therm provides multiple modes for both cooling and heating. It is designed to support nurse-managed protocols and can be used throughout your facility to control or maintain the patient s core body temperature. Most importantly, Medi-Therm helps you ensure your patient s safety. Dual over-temperature monitoring systems help safeguard the patient s well-being and comfort. The system relies on non-invasive procedures without the risks associated with catheter-based systems, and Medi-Therm is defibrillator-proof, enabling you to quickly respond to emergencies. a c e b d f
Intuitive Control Panel Makes Operation Easy. a Visual/audible alerts Provide easy identification of conditions that need attention c Water temperature Continuous display in Manual and Auto modes e Celsius/Fahrenheit scale One-touch selection b Patient temperature Constant display in all modes when a patient probe interface is used d Six automatic options Rapid, Moderate or Gradual modes each for warming and cooling f Set point Allows temperature to be adjusted per protocol
Controlled cooling and warming cycles support multiple therapies. Medi-Therm allows for a combination of cooling and warming cycles to be used as needed for the prescribed therapy. Cool Maintain Warm 37 C Moderate Gradual 33 C 12 hr. 24 hr. Cooling Three cooling modes precisely meet patient needs: Rapid Mode uses the coldest water available Moderate Mode 15-degree Celsius differential* Gradual Mode 10-degree Celsius differential* *between output water temperature and patient temperature Medi-Therm quickly stabilizes patient temperature at a selected target temperature, yet has integrated safety precautions to prevent over-cooling. Maintaining Temperature Medi-Therm s accuracy provides caregivers with a means to maintain patient temperature at a desired set point, depending on protocol. Warming The Medi-Therm system accommodates automatic warming intervals. The caregiver simply chooses the desired patient temperature and then chooses from two rates as protocol requires: Moderate Mode 1-degree Celsius every 3 hours Gradual Mode 1-degree Celsius every 6 hours Rapr Round Body Wraps: Designed by Clinicians Stryker Rapr Round body wraps offer more efficient warming and cooling when compared to conventional water blankets. These cost-effective wraps are easy to apply with a simple closure. Nothing adheres to the skin for greater overall comfort and they move with the body during patient repositioning. Features Precise warming and cooling Non-woven material provides gentle, non-adhesive contact layer that eliminates use of sheet between body wrap and patient skin Lower profile chest allows easy patient access and quick visibility to IV lines and EKG leads Does not interfere with specialty support surfaces Defibrillator-proof Rapr Round Kits Each kit contains one vest and two leg wraps Stackable for a cart or storage cupboard Pre-organized by patient size (S/M and L) Easy to identify Easy to open

Indications for use for the Medi-Therm thermal regulating system include: a. To maintain pre-set body temperature as determined by the physician b. To maintain normal body temperature during surgical procedures c. For use in all hospital areas including invasive and coronary care units, in operating, recovery and emergency rooms, in burn units and on medical/surgical floors d. This system can be used with adult and pediatric patients e. Monitoring and controlling patient temperature f. Temperature reduction in patients where clinically indicated, e.g. in hyperthermic patients 3800 E.
