CONTRACT PERIOD 8/1/2016-7/31/2017 This contract was developed as a statewide contract in order to allow the various commodity to be on a single contract while meeting the needs of the different agencies. Cooperative Procurement is a term that refers to the combining of requirements of two or more public procurement entities to leverage the benefits of volume purchases, delivery and supply chain advantages, best practices, and the reduction of administrative time and expenses. Cooperative procurement efforts may result in contracts that other entities may piggyback. The need for this type of contract was recognized by ability it brings to shop on line. Most state contracts are available for convenience and their use is not mandatory. In this case, other applicable Statewide contracts have remained in place as this contract is piloted. Agencies are encouraged to compare prices on this contract compared to the traditional Statewide contracts prior to making a purchase.
