Customer Guidelines for the Return of Cylinders As you are aware, empty cylinders being returned normally contain a small amount of gas commonly referred to as the heel. It is therefore important that you as our customer & distribution partner understand the regulatory requirements involved with returning cylinders to DuPont. Labels and Package Marking A label similar to the one below must be on the shoulder of each cylinder, or on a tag that is securely attached to each cylinder.each cylinder must display the full proper shipping name and Product Identification Number (UN Number) of the material as described in the TDG Regulations. The label, proper shipping name and UN Number have been placed on the cylinder prior to shipment by DuPont. If any of this information has come off during transit or use, it is your responsibility to replace this information prior to returning the cylinder. Placards As Consignor, it is your responsibility to offer the carrier transporting cylinders from your facility placards based on the gross mass of your shipment as indicated below. (Gross mass is defined as the total weight of the cylinder and the product inside the cylinder). Placard requirements are fully outlined in Part 4 of TDG Regulations. The following is intended as a general guideline for shipments of Non Flammable, Non Toxic gasses in cylinders: Cylinder shipment with gross weight of less than 500 kg s Cylinder shipment with gross weight exceeding 500 kg s No Placards Required 4x Placards In the event you have a cylinder that contained a Class 2.1 Flammable Gas included with your returning cylinders, please reference Section 4.15 and 4.18 of the T DG Regulations or contact DuPont for assistance for guidance on the proper placards to offer the carrier. Page 11 of 14.

Documentation A shipping document used for the return of cylinders containing product must be prepared by a person trained in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods and must accompany the consignment. The regulatory information that must be present on the shipping documents includes: The name and address of the consignor (shipper) The date the cylinders were prepared for transport or offered to the carrier for transport The descriptions of the material in the following order: - The UN number of the material - Proper Shipping Name - Dangerous Goods Class and division of material EXAMPLES: UN3159 Refrigerant Gas R134a Liquefied Gas N.O.S. (Pentafluoroethane and Trifluoroethane) NOTE: The term Residue Last Contained must not be used to describe any amount of Class 2 material being shipped in a cylinder. The gross weight in kilograms of each Proper Shipping Name being offered for transport The number of cylinders for each Proper Shipping name being offered for transport A 24 hour emergency telephone number NOTE: This information is not intended to act as a replacement for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. NOTE: The 24 hr. phone number used must be a number where technical information can be provided without breaking the connection made by the caller. You may use your own number or the CANUTEC number in which case you must register with CANUTEC prior to use. CANUTEC is a service that provides 24-hour technical information and is offered by Transport Canada free of charge. The only stipulation is that anyone who chooses to use this service must be registered with CANUTEC. CANUTEC also requires Material Safety Data Sheets for the products that are being offered for transport, but these will have already been submitted to them for the DuPont material moving from your location. Please note, the above applies only to DuPont material. Should you ship any non DuPont dangerous goods, it is your responsibility as the consignor to ensure that the 24 hour telephone number you show on your shipping document can provide the required technical information, without breaking the connection made by the caller, or, should you choose to use 613-996-6666, that the MSDSs for the material involved are on file with CANUTEC. To obtain further information or to register with CANUTEC access their website at; www.tc.gc.ca/canutec. Page 12 of 14.
