3. Show Technical Information Introduction: Medea is a 90 min production combining aerial dance, wall running, counterbalancing, movement, music and text, supported by a full lighting and sound design, creating an impressive piece of theatre. The production is staged end on. Set & Scenery: The playing area required is a 6 metre square at ground level, with a 5 metre high vertical wall at the upstage edge. The wall is a 5 metre high steel frame clad with 18mm fire retardant class 1 plywood. Above the wall at a height of 6.5 metres is a 6 metre wide truss running across stage, and parallel to this is a second truss 3 metres further downstage also running across stage. Both trusses are top hung from the grid or other steel/timber supports, subject to appropriate load testing. Each truss is suspended by 2 points per truss rated at a minimum of 1 tonne. The trusses hang from steel cables and soft fibre round slings and are down guyed via steel wire and ratchet straps to ground anchors around the perimeter of the stage. The load required at the ground anchors is 100kg and these will need to be identified at a site visit prior to the load in. The trusses provide the rigging for the counterweight performance and the circus equipment and will be lifted by electric chain hoists which will require a 63 amp supply. It is also possible to use manual chain hoists. The wall provides the surface for the wall running section. It contains sufficient floor bracing and is self- supporting with stabilising stage weights, and further connections to the truss and to the anchor points around the stage. The wall is made up of six sections which are bolted together. No part of the set weighs more than 40kg and is able to be lifted by a minimum of 2 persons. We do not require the use of your black dance floor but would ask for a black floor where possible! Interval Changes: There is no Interval and the performance has a running time of approximately 85-90 minutes duration. Masking: The show requires a black box with winged entrances on either side of the stage. We do not require a crossover upstage. Preset: House Tabs are not used in this production, The preset will be completed by the touring technical staff. Orchestra Pit: We do not require the use of your orchestra pit. Wardrobe / Dressing Rooms: Beneath is a list of the dressing rooms desired 2x Company dressing rooms (1x male for 2x performers, 1 x female for 3x performers) 1x Company manager s office / dressing room Effects: A Hazer machine may be used in this show but there will be no other pyrotechnics. Page 4 of 8

Sound: Sound will be operated by our touring Stage Manager from your usual operating position. We are touring and operating the sound playback on computer software which will be tied into your general PA system. The touring laptop is PAT test stamped. We do not require CD or MD playback. There are microphones attached to the set, and some boundary mics downstage. We will require onstage fold- back. Lighting: The touring Stage Manager will undertake re- lights, and will cue lighting. All lighting will be created using in- house kit at each venue. Where possible (and without contra) we would request a pre- rig and the use of in- house gel. We are touring only a small amount of gel stock. Stage Management : We require communications between upstage centre and control position, and we will require use of your usual FOH operating position preferably in the auditorium if possible without the loss of any seat sales or any contra, please advise of any difficulties before our arrival. We will require communication with the venue staff to receive clearance and advise of any problems during the run of the performance. Contra Payments: Please send to Actors of Dionysus as per contact page. Details of all re- charge and contra costs such as crew recharges, staff overtime incurred by the production, equipment, telephone, photocopying & internet access must be approved and countersigned by our touring Stage Manager before the production leaves your venue. General Info: The SM will require access to the office / dressing room during normal daytime hours, please advise if there is any problem with this! Any Stage Technician or Electrician or any member of Technical staff showing up for work or show calls, showing any signs of alcohol or illegal substance abuse, must be sent home immediately, and the theatre management will be responsible for providing immediate suitable replacements. Transport: 1x Self- driven Sprinter- style Van. Parking will be required from an hour before load in time on the day of the fit- up, until an hour after curtain down on the last performance at your venue. Please ensure that our van can park legally and without obstruction. Any meters should be bagged off prior to our arrival, and permits obtained as necessary. Get- Out: The Get- Out is based on the agreement with your venue. Please note that the get- out will commence immediately after the last performance at your venue. Local staff levels for the Get- out are as follows: 4 x Technician. Page 5 of 8

5. Health & Safety Policy: Introduction / Policy Overview: The aim of this document is to provide clear information on both the responsibilities of those involved in the production (both touring staff and receiving venues) and the methods and practices in place to ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and Fire risk assessments procedures. It is the responsibility of Actors of Dionysus to provide a Health & Safety policy for both the welfare of its employees and any other persons involved in the production, and we will endeavour to promote the highest standards achievable. It is a mutual responsibility of both the Employer and Employee to ensure the proper application of these practices. Actors of Dionsus treats Health & Safety as a vital aspect of all its productions and gives emphasis accordingly. All policies and risk assessments will be reviewed each time any change in work method, equipment, or premises is introduced, or when consideration is given to both set design and construction, and the purchasing of new equipment. Training and instruction is provided to managers and supervisors and other employees as required. Intoxicating Substances / Alcohol Policy: Any Illegal substance or Alcohol are not to be carried onto, stored, or consumed, backstage in any venue where the company is operating. No employee should work under the influence of any of the aforementioned items. ANYONE DOING SO IS LIABLE FOR INSTANT DISMISSAL. Responsibility / Employee Involvement: The Producer of each production has ultimate responsibility for the Health & Safety on each production. The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that all methods, training, and paperwork is correctly in place and acted upon to ensure compliance with all relevant law, as well as monitoring the equipment, PPE and methods used and reviewing as necessary. The touring Stage Manager is responsible as the representative of the Company regarding Health & Safety, as well as reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Company, and ensuring compliance with the Safe working practices laid out in this document. Page 7 of 8

Touring Safe Working Practices: During the initial familiarisation / Sound Check at each venue there must be a Health & Safety briefing for the company informing them of any changes in the set up, arrangement, location or access of the production, its equipment, or scenery. At this meeting company members are encouraged to ask any questions in relation to health & safety they may have. The touring Stage Manager must obtain a copy of the host theatre s health & safety policy and ensure that all company members and freelance staff working on behalf of the company conform to the policy during their stay at the theatre. Actors of DIonysus instigates a method of regular risk assessment and review for each production to ensure the highest possible awareness of any dangers or hazards presented in each unique situation. The company understands its responsibilities in regards to Controlling of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Lifting Equipment Lifting Operation Regulations (LOLER) and provide certificates and paperwork as required by each production. In order to minimise any fire risk during the production all scenic items of the production are manufactured using Class 1 fire retardant materials, a copy of any certificates is available upon request. Any elements unique to a production that may elevate the risk of a fire will have a separate Fire risk assessment. All electrical equipment toured by the company will be PAT tested to ensure electrical safety; any equipment found to be defective will be withdrawn from use. The touring Stage Manager will ensure that correct manual handling procedures are in use during both the Fit- up and Get- out period in each venue. Page 8 of 8
