WE ARE HAAS We are a family business in Austria for machines and services for the baking and confectionery industry, and a future-oriented world market leader in this business segment. We employ approximately 1,600 employees worldwide of which approximately 650 are employed at our main office in Leobendorf. We meet the highest demands of quality with more than six decades of experience in the area of wafer machines combined with intensive research work. A broad spectrum of technologies, processes, machines, and expertise is the foundation of our perfect overall approach. In further consequence, we customize production lines for our customers. THE WORLD OF HAAS Our machines and equipment for producing wafers, ice cream cones, wafer sticks, waffles, cookies, crackers, and cake, and equipment for convenience food and aerated products such as marshmallows are in use worldwide. One in two wafers in the world comes from a Haas machine!

OUR HISTORY 1905 On July 14, 1905, master machinist Josef Haas founded a metal construction and machine shop in Vienna. 2002 Acquisition of Mondomix in the Netherlands. 1933 His sons, Franz, Josef, and Karl took over the small company. 2003 Acquisition of GAM Steinhoff GmbH in Germany. 1948 Franz Haas built the groundbreaking HV6. 2005 Josef Haas, Johannes Haas, and Stefan Jiraschek ensured that the future path of our internationally renowned company is successful. 1975 All production was moved from Vienna to a new, large plant in Leobendorf. 2006 Haas Food Machinery, Shanghai was founded. 1977 Haas do Brasil, Curitiba was founded. 2009 Takeover of 85 % of DFE Meincke Holding, Denmark. 1980 Haas of America was founded in Richmond, Virginia. 2016 Acquiring the know-how of the company Patreider S.r.l., Italy.

TRAINEES Our international trainee program is directed at dedicated college graduates with a degree in technology. They must possess above-average qualifications and wish to assume a role of leadership and responsibility within the HAAS Group in the medium term. Our trainee program is a career path that carries weight with numerous Haas corporations around the world. Our trainees work independently as valuable team members on projects, quickly take responsibility, and are regularly given professional and personal support by a mentor. They also have the opportunity to work in various divisions and to gain unforgettable, invaluable experience through intercultural exchange. The program participants become familiar with all of the relevant divisions of our company in six blocks of four, three, or two months. They discover the diverse areas of responsibility of production, engineering, sales, and project planning from various perspectives by repeated job rotations within the Haas group in a practice-oriented way. The trainees spend ten months of their training at one of our branches abroad. u 6 blocks of 4, 3, or 2 months u Job rotations: Working in the Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Service Divisions u Foreign assignments for 10 months u Intensive training programs u Duration: 21 months During the trainee program, the employees gain knowledge through a variety of intensive training programs such as Haas internal specialist training, project management and business management training, as well as language courses during their stays abroad. Our trainees also take part in the Haas junior managers program and in service training sessions.
As part of my professional traineeship, Haas gives me the opportunity to complete my thesis with professional support from those experienced in the field.
UNIVERSITY STUDENTS & GRADUATES With an internship or degree-specific or project-specific collaboration with Haas, university students can gain invaluable professional experience, put the knowledge they have gained into practice, and while doing so build up a professional network during or directly after their course of studies. This opens doors for the rest of their career path. At Haas, there are various divisions that can be selected for a professional traineeship, from Production and Manufacturing to the Engineering Division, Purchasing, Marketing, IT, HR, to the Finance Division. The prerequisites for a professional traineeship are an active course of studies at a university or university of applied sciences. The duration of the internship can vary from two to six months. University students and graduates can start an internship in the spring (April/May) or fall (September/October). u Professional traineeship in various divisions such as Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, IT, HR, and the Finance Division. u Degree or project specific collaboration u Duration of 2 6 months u Possibility of starting in the spring (April/May) or fall (September/October) Ideally, their work during the professional traineeship is tied together with the topic of a project and/or thesis. During this time, a specialized supervisor functioning as an internal coach supports our interns with professional and personal advice.
During my summer internship at Haas, I was able to gain a lot of invaluable practical experience in my field.
STUDENTS We offer the opportunity for summer internships for students from higher vocational schools (HAS, HAK, HTL). Depending on the specialization of the school type, an internship may be completed in an appropriate Haas division such as Production and Manufacturing, Purchasing, or in the Finance division. During this practical work experience, we help interns with career selection and orientation and increase the knowledge they gained in school. These internships normally take place in the summer and last between one and two months. We begin assigning internships in the spring and inform applicants as quickly as possible about the current status of their application. u Summer internship in various divisions such as Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Marketing, IT, HR, or the Finance Division u Students from higher vocational schools (HAS, HAK, HTL) u Registrations are possible every spring u Duration: 1 2 months
The Haas apprenticeship is giving me high-quality training with the prospect of becoming a technician including the opportunity to gain my A-levels.
APPRENTICES Apprentices at Haas receive sound training at the higher technical apprentice level (HTL) (apprenticeship with a general qualification for university entrance!) with various opportunities for continued education. They become familiar with the many areas of work at Haas through practice-oriented work in various departments. We put great emphasis on teamwork; a good work atmosphere and polite interaction ensure a unique atmosphere that makes personal and professional advancement possible. We offer vocational training for metal work and mechanical engineering technology as well as electronics, or systems and equipment technology that are each divided into three modules. u Two apprenticeship professions: Metal work and mechanical engineering technology as well as electronics, or systems and equipment technology u Divided into 3 modules: Basic module (2 years), main module (1.5 years), optional: special module (6 months) u Registration is possible starting in the spring
