FOREST EUROPE - Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe FOREST EUROPE criteria and indicators for SFM

C&I for SFM short insight Basic tool for monitoring, assessing, implementing and promoting sustainable forest management by providing relevant information for policy makers in forestry Pan-European C&I set has shaped and stabilized international reporting in the region Comparability of forest information among European countries Facilitated the development and adaptation of national policy instruments Building bridge to other sectors: basis for cross-sectoral forest related data collection a communication to the other sector and broad public

C&I for SFM short insight FE was one of the first regional policy process to develop and endorse C&I The first set of indictors was developed at the 3rd Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe in Lisbon in 1998. Reviewed and an improved set of indicators was endorsed at the 4th Ministerial Conference, in Vienna in 2003 Set of Updated pan-european Indicators was elaborated and endorsed it at the 7th Ministerial Conference in Madrid in October 2015
