About DYMAX DYMAX pioneered the development of light curing (UV or UV/Visible) adhesives for industrial applications. With over 25 years of manufacturing experience with light curing materials, DYMAX continues to provide manufacturers with innovative products and solutions that result in improved productivity and reduced processing costs. A global team of technical professionals is dedicated to assisting manufacturers with product selection, dispensing options, curing recommendations, and process validation that make their manufacturing more efficient. DYMAX understands the demands of the orthopaedic and medical devices finishing market. This selector guide identifies peedmask product offerings for typical applications involving chemical processes, media finishing, coatings, and manufacturing aids. DYMAX has hundreds of other formulations available or a new one may be created if a truly customized solution is more desirable. New Technology Advancements ee-cure Color-Change Technology DYMAX has answered the two most important questions in the adhesives industry: How do I know that a sufficient amount of masking resin has been dispensed onto my substrate? How do I know the maskant is fully cured? DYMAX maskants formulated with ee-cure technology start out bright blue in their uncured state, making them highly visible on substrates. During the light curing process, the blue transitions to pink indicating that sufficient light energy was received, providing a visual indication that the material\ is fully cured. This visual cure-indicator may initially be used to qualify the process, and then be used to ensure that the process remains within the qualified parameters. Visit www.dymax.com/seeitcure for more information. Chemical Processes ANODIZING superior surface protection during the anodizing of orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments and other medical devices. peedmask resins have been formulated with more chemical resistance for better surface protection from the strong acids used in the anodizing process. The cured maskant protects the substrate surface while the oxide layer of coating (which is designed to change the microscopic texture of the component surface), is being applied. peedmask resins can tolerate most Type I (Chromic Acid), Type II (ulfuric Acid), or Type III (Hardcoat) anodizing processes. peedmask Light Curing Temporary Masking Resins for ANODIZING Processes Product Features and Benefits mpas (20 rpm) 24-Hour Water Absorption Modulus of Elasticity MPa [psi] 7123-R -C 7127-G UV/Visible light curing; moderate adhesion; easy to remove; moderate chemical resistance; high-visibility red New-generation formulation; UV/Visible light curing; moderate adhesion; easy removal; moderate chemical resistance; heat resistance up to 200 C; clear in New-generation formulation; moderate adhesion; easy to remove; excellent protection during moderate- pressure blasting; ee- Cure technology resin transitions from blue to pink upon sufficient exposure to light energy New-generation formulation, UV/Visible light curing; high adhesion; impervious to most acid and alkali solutions; aluminum and titanium substrate protection; trimmable; high-visibility green New-generation formulation, UV/Visible light curing; high adhesion; easy removal after hotwater soak; superior product with excellent surface protection to aggressive chemical processes; high-visibility green 15,000 A80 <.50% 2.6 [380] 45 seconds 50,000 D38 8.3% 2.58 [375] 15 seconds 21,000 D55 <0.5% 66 [9600] 45 seconds** **Mercury vapor bulb, DYMAX part number 36970 Page 3

Chemical Processes PLATING superior surface protection of orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments, and other medical devices during various plating processes. peedmask resins have been formulated with chemical and heat resistance to protect masked areas during plating processes where particles are deposited onto conductive surfaces. These resins are able to withstand the most common plating processes such as Electroless Nickel (Ni), Platinum (Pt), Chrome (Cr), Gold (Au), ilver (Ag), and Copper (Cu). peedmask temporary masking resins are available in low, moderate, and high levels of adhesion to accommodate the various operating temperatures of plating baths. The higher the temperature of a plating process, the higher the maskant adhesion will need to be. The higher the ph of a plating mask, the greater the need for a chemical-resistant maskant. peedmask Light Curing Temporary Masking Resins for PLATING Processes Product Features and Benefits mpas (20 rpm) 24-Hour Water Absorption Modulus of Elasticity MPa [psi] 7123-R UV/Visible light curing; moderate adhesion; easy to remove; moderate chemical resistance; high-visibility red 15,000 A80 <.50% 2.6 [380] 45 seconds -C 7127-G New-generation formulation; UV/Visible light curing; moderate adhesion; easy removal; moderate chemical resistance; heat resistance up to 200 C; clear in New-generation formulation; moderate adhesion; easy to remove; excellent protection during moderate- pressure blasting; ee- Cure technology resin transitions from blue to pink upon sufficient exposure to light energy New-generation formulation, UV/Visible light curing; high adhesion; impervious to most acid and alkali solutions; aluminum and titanium substrate protection; trimmable; high-visibility green New-generation formulation, UV/Visible light curing; high adhesion; easy removal after hotwater soak; superior product with excellent surface protection to aggressive chemical processes; high-visibility green **Mercury vapor bulb, DYMAX part number 36970 50,000 D38 8.3% 2.58 [375] 15 seconds 21,000 D55 <0.5% 66 [9,600] 45 seconds** Page 4

Chemical Processes CHEMICAL MILLING peedmask resins provide superior surface protection during the chemical milling of orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments, and medical devices. peedmask resins have been formulated with enhanced chemical resistance for reliable protection from strong acids and alkalis used in dissolving metal substrates during chemical milling. peedmask 7127-G can be trimmed to provide defined edge boundaries and accommodate the most complex and intricate components while still providing excellent protection with no leakage. These resins were developed to withstand the typical 90 C+ Nitric Acid (HNO3) and Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) solutions used for the chemical milling of titanium components. peedmask resins were also developed to withstand typical odium Hydroxide (NaOH) and Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) solutions used for the chemical milling of aluminum components. peedmask Light Curing Temporary Masking Resins for CHEMICAL MILLING Processes Product Features and Benefits mpas (20 rpm) 24-Hour Water Absorption Modulus of Elasticity MPa [psi] 7127-G New-generation formulation, UV/Visible light curing; high adhesion; impervious to most acid and alkali solutions; aluminum and titanium substrate protection; trimmable; high-visibility green **Mercury vapor bulb, DYMAX part number 36970 21,000 D55 <0.5% 66 [9,600] 45 seconds** Easily apply, cure, and remove peedmask resins from orthopaedic implants! pray resin onto knee implant Cure masked knee implants in seconds in DYMAX conveyor Remove cured mask by peeling Page 5
