Un.1 - Vila das Aves Un.2 - Santo Tirso Un.3 - Vilar Formoso Termolan is a Portuguese company funded in 1975 which manufactures rock wool for thermal and acoustic insulation and for fire protection. The knowledge of entire process that takes place since the transformation of the basalt and limestone in mineral wool, associated to the use of updated technological means, allows Termolan to manufacture a product that answer to the client's needs. The success of the projects that Termolan develops is founded in a strong and expert leadership, in the high technological level of the production units and in a board with the appropriate competences that allow qualifying the company for the new emerging challenges: Introduction of new technologies, incorporated in the product, in the process of manufacture or in any functional area of the company; Growth toward new markets. Now, the company guides their efforts in the permanent improvement of their customer s satisfaction and in the improvement of the efficiency of the Organization, through the implementation of an appropriate Quality Management System ISO 9001. Actual problematic such as the environment and the enrichments of the society that encircles it are concrete realities for Termolan, that expressed the concern in manufacturing according with applicable regulations and diminishing as possible the environmental impact of its manufacturing units where are located.

R These products - natural, inorganic and minerals - are manufactured according pre-defined quality standards and order to the specificity of their use. CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS - Manufactured according EN 13162 CE Marking Directive 89/106/CE applies to construction products, i.e. any products produced with a view to their incorporation in a permanent manner in construction works. The purpose of the Construction Products Directive is to ensure the free movement of all construction products within the Union by harmonising national laws with respect to the essential requirements applicable to these products in terms of health and safety. INDUSTRY PRODUCTS DNV Product Certification DNV is one of the classification entities and world leader assisting maritime sector in managing risks, classification of ships, certification of products, etc. The maritime safety is regulated by SOLAS Convention. ROCTERM industry products have the following certificates: * EC TYPE EXAMINATION CERTIFICATE: Med B Certify the product. * QS CERTIFICATE OF ASSESSMENT EC: Med D Certify the quality system for the product. HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT The use of these products assures a larger easiness in the renewal of the air of the interior inhabitable spaces. The noise is aggression, it is annoyance and nowadays the noise levels are growing. The use of rock wool allows: Insulate and correct the spaces acoustically. Protect the people of the noise aggression. Improve the buildings comfort. The importance of the thermal isolation in the constructions is more and more well-known. The isolation not only it reduces the energy consumptions of exploration of a construction as it protects several materials of the same prolonging them his/her useful life. The products of rock wool Rocterm have for base fibres of the same nature of the origin rocks. These fibres having been rehearsed experimentally, guaranteeing the bio-solubility of the products. The MW ROCTERM fibres accomplish one of the established exclusion criteria in the Note Q of 97/69/CE Directive. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) - part of the World Health Organisation - in October 2001 concluded that mineral wool insulation was ". unclassifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans". They are, obviously, inoffensive for health. Even so, their manipulation and application should be made with appropriate clothing and gloves. For safety reasons, according 97/69/CE Directive, all of the mineral wools are classified as irritant for the skin.

VERSATILITY IS: THERMAL INSULATION ACOUSTICAL INSULATION FIRE PROTECTION Using only one product R MAIN PROPERTIES: ACOUSTICAL INSULATION - These products have an excellent acoustics. Because of their structure they combine effectively density and sound absorption. THERMAL INSULATION - The stone wool has excellent thermal insulation characteristics. Its working temperature ranges from:-200 º C to + 0 º C. FIRE BEHAVIOR The stone wool is non-combustible. The inclusion of these products can avoid fire spreading trough the insulation, defending the isolated areas from the fire action. WATER RESISTANCE - ROCTERM stone wool does not promote capillary suction. Their non-hydrophilic properties allow them does not promote retention of water. CHEMICALLY NEUTRAL - This stone-wool has a chemical composition that is similar to that resulting from the original rocks (basalt and limestone). HEALTH - These products are harmless to health. MW ROCTERM is a substance tested experimentally (ITEM), which meets the criteria of exclusion established in Note Q Directive 97/69/EC. However its handling and application must be done with appropriate clothing and gloves. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - These products are manufactured with all care to protect the environment does not produce aggressive substances or contaminants.
