Always new ideas to improve the plasticizing process. W&H extruders are designed for universal use and have been proven in thousands of applications. The high precision of VAREX II starts with the feeding of resins and additives. Depending on product requirements, discontinuous and continuous dosing and gravimetric systems are available. The grooved feed bush section of the extruder features external temperature control to ensure perfect thermal conditions at all times. High-performance, flow-optimized barrier screws give maximum flexibility for processing different materials a major advantage, especially when producing multi-layer barrier film and other demanding resin combinations. High-tech engineering solutions are the result of consistent development and improvement and will set new standards in terms of efficiency, ergonomics and operating safety.

Because of its compact design, the MAXICONE C concept has been extensively proven in the field for 3-layer film production. The ability to process layer ratios of 1:6:1 and even more sophisticated film structures offers optimum flexibility with product specifications. generates additional potential in regard to resin cost savings through downgauging as well as through the use of less expensive materials. For up to 11-layer applications, W&H offers a broad range of customized MAXICONE dies specially designed to meet the specific requirements and product specifications. mum, which, in turn, results in high output and optimum film thickness tolerances. The innovative ARCTIS air ring concept features optimized air flows, resulting in maximum output and perfect film quality. Integrated air ring insulation guarantees consistent production conditions at all times. Perfect film guiding and narrow width tolerances are ensured through the film sizing cages VARIOCAGE and NOSTIC AIR CAGE. The special features of the VARIOCAGE include a robust design and low maintenance. The noncontact NOSTIC AIR CAGE is recommended for sticky films or films with sensitive surfaces. The modularly designed MULTINIP oscillating haul-off systems are equipped as standard with easy running carbon fiber rollers, two non-stick coated air turning bars and remote motorized adjustment of the collapsing frame. The most significant advantage of the VAREX II is its modular design, allowing easy retrofitting of add-on modules for new applications. This is impressively documented in the exceptionally broad range of FILMATIC winders offered by W&H, which are unique in the marketplace. The integration into a central process control system of all line components guarantees optimum performance and productivity as well as the greatest ease of operation. The intuitive operator interface and comprehensive control functions set new standards in regard to a clear arrangement of all elements as well as operator-friendliness. Precise film thickness control is an essential requirement for perfect film quality. With the development of automatic gauge control, W&H revolutionized the blown film market many years ago. Targeted control of the melt temperature on the bubble circumference minimizes film thickness tolerances, while at the same time ensuring consistent high film quality and maximum output. The result is reduced resin usage as well as optimal downstream processing. Ever decreasing order volumes call for efficient changeover processes.
