PRESERVATION OF LAGOON E Kurt Smith Project Manager
PRESERVATION OF LAGOON E & UTILITY RELOCATIONS BASIN 8 50 FEET Kurt Smith Project Manager LIMITS OF EXISTING LAGOON E 2:1 SLOPE STRUCTURAL EMBANKMENT
PRESERVATION OF LAGOON E Kurt Smith Project Manager EXISTING LAGOON CAPACITY REDUCED FROM 41.8 MG TO 33 MG OR 21% REDUCTION
SEDIMENTATION BASIN SIZE REDUCTION Negotiations with OEPA Based on historic plant performance Based on old design text books 4 hours without sludge equipment Based on conservatism of 10- States Standards Kurt Smith Project Manager Cost Savings Benefits Detention time reduced from 4 hours to 3 hours ~ $5.8 M savings Provides space savings for new Ozone Facility SPACE SAVINGS FOR OZONE FACILITY
DESIGN PHASE - Excellent 3D visualization - Interactive tool with Owner - Design progress meetings - Freedom Navisworks software (for the novice) - Clash detection to: - Improve quality of bidding documents - Minimize change orders - Bidding Phase - Provide to Contractors 3D CAD BENEFITS Kurt Smith Project Manager
3D CAD BENEFITS CONSTRUCTION PHASE (CONTRACTOR) - Quicker orientation of project estimators, managers & trades - More efficient coordination of trade disciplines to resolves conflicts - Decreases errors and corrections in field - Higher reliability of expected field conditions and plan drawings - Allows for more prefabrication offsite with higher quality and lower cost - Reduce RFI s and expedite construction schedule Kurt Smith- Creates a safer workplace Project Manager - Construction sequencing
3D CAD BENEFITS POST CONSTRUCTION - Develop 3D views for O&M Manuals - CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) - Add asset information to model for O&M/asset management - Freedom Navisworks software (for the novice) - Interactive tool for operator and safety training Kurt Smith Project Manager
PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS Prequalification Process - Received 6 proposals - Short listed to 4 Contractors to bid Evaluation Process - Bonding - Verifiable statement confirming financial wherewithal - Planned approach Kurt Smith to the project - ReferencesProject Manager - Construction Experience - Water/wastewater projects - Large excavation - Workforce & Workload - Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental Program Control Quality and Risk Reduction

Logo protection zone Template Layout Tips Paragraph level First level bullet Second level bullet Third level bullet To turn the guides on and off: right click > grids and guides > guides or Alt + F9. To get bullets use Increase list level or Shift + Alt + The grid is laid out in six columns and is designed to provide a flexible layout while still allowing for breathing room and white space. Text and images should not extend past blue lines. (Full size images would be an exception)
Guidance Always ensure that if you are presented with an Enable Content and / or Enable Editing option/s on opening a document, that you DO enable the content and / or editing by clicking on the buttons presented There are sixteen layouts in each master (one with logo, and another without) to choose from to suit your needs and help keep your presentation consistent Incorporating slides from another presentation: Click on New Slide on the Slides ribbon group, under the Home ribbon tab and scroll down and choose the layout you want to use Copy your slides (Ctrl + C) and insert a new blank slide layout in your new presentation and paste your slides (Ctrl + V) into your new presentation (not behind any of the other layouts, especially not behind the title or divider layouts) The small Paste clipboard icon will appear at the bottom of the slides you have copied in, click on the arrow on the icon and choose use destination theme, this will ensure that your slides will use the correct colour pallet throughout the document You may need to correct some colour combinations, any other anomalies, and choose the layout design you require for each slide i.e., Title and Content, Title only, Blank etc and a certain amount of tidying will normally be required You can also use the Keep Source Formatting option but ensure that you change the colour palette for the slides you have copied in to our Arcadis Brand palette. If you are still having problems try opening a blank new PowerPoint document (Ctrl +N) and paste your slides into this before pasting it into the new template Alternatively, you may need to copy each of the elements of the design into the new template individually using the Paste Special / Unformatted Text option and reapply formatting in the new template this may be long winded, but can often be safer and ensures more consistent application of the branding Kickers / takeaways should be short, sharp and to the point, the text size is set and should not be made smaller if you do not need to use a kicker, please just delete the text box
