Tensioners Silverback woven lashings need to be tensioned using a manual or pneumatic tool. Benefits of our tools are minimal wear and tear, lightweight and ease of use. Ratchet buckle style tensioners can be used for tensioning of heavy duty woven lashings in conjunction with wire clamping buckles or ladder buckles. 3 Polyester (PET) Strapping PET strapping most closely resembles steel strapping in its physical characteristics. Designed for medium to heavy-duty palletising and unitising applications and can be applied by hand tools or power strapping equipment. This strapping material yields higher break strengths and maintains a higher level of retained strap tension than polypropylene strapping. Ideally suited for rigid loads that require strapping tension throughout handling, shipping and storage. Easy to handle with no sharp edges and does not whiplash when removed. Reduces machine downtime due to less frequent core changes. Does not rust therefore does not stain or mark goods surfaces. Can be tensioned up to 50% more than polypropylene strap of equivalent size. Performs well under shock loading and takes 2.5 times the energy to break as steel. 4 Steel Strapping Silverback stock a range of regular duty and high tensile steel strapping to suit all applications. Rope Wound (High Tensile) For more demanding applications, high tensile strapping is a specially blended cold rolled steel product that is heat treated, allowing it to absorb shock better than regular steel. These are heavy 50kg coils that are wound onto a 400mm metal inner ring which is about 50mm wide and the strap is wound on like rope. These fit into larger heavy duty dispensers that are always on wheels. Ribbon Wound (Regular) Regular duty strapping is a medium carbon, cold rolled steel strap. It is ideal for general applications such as pallet unitising and timber packs. These are smaller rolls that are one strand wide. E.g. 19mm strap is a coil 19mm wide. Ribbon wound rolls are approx 15kg and can be carried easily by hand. They fit in the small A frame dispensers. Steel Snap On Seals Make sealing your steel strap a much lighter task than expected. Easy to apply and seal using the steel strap crimper. Tight grip for a reliable seal to secure heavy items.
