The role of the Content Manager is to maximise the effectiveness of our content, ensuring it reaches the right people at the right time, and results in increased engagement from our audiences. The Content Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of a content management and distribution programme, which will enhance engagement with AAT amongst external stakeholders, prospective students and our membership. The Content Manager must have a strong technical background in addition to the creativity required to develop and commission responsive, interesting and original content. The Content Manager will be expected to identify relevant content (sourced internally and externally), advise colleagues on generating good quality content, as well as developing and creating content for a variety of platforms. This involves working in partnership with different teams across the business, as well as external agencies and subject matter experts to ensure the content we are creating/commissioning is high quality and reaches its audiences in the most timely and effective way. Responsibilities Content development The content team s main focus is our members magazine, Accounting Technician, and our blog AAT Comment. The team also provides content for other channels including our regular email newsletters to all stakeholder groups. It also supports content for our SM hub, informi.com. The Content Manager will develop a strategic content programme designed to: increase engagement across all our audiences through greater access to AAT s content increase brand awareness, perception and engagement with new and existing audiences including prospective students, student members and full/fellow members of AAT apply SO principles to all content ensure compliance with the law (for example, copyright and data protection laws) ensure content strategy aligns with short-term and long-term business targets
Content management Develop and manage a rolling content schedule to maximise engagement and access: bringing together business content requirements from across the organisation audience content distribution plans availability of content access to content through the development and maintenance of an asset database. Content delivery Maximise content effectiveness by: ensuring AAT material reaches as wide an audience as possible beyond initial audience distribution creating and developing existing content designed to target key audience groups ensuring all content is of an appropriately high standard ensuring content is commissioned / procured in an appropriate way. Content evaluation nsuring ongoing success of the content programme through: monitoring traffic and metrics, using the results to ensure constant improvement goals are met measuring success by defining and managing KPIs, including usability testing and analytics using insight to make recommendations of ways to improve content management and delivery. Team management Lead and manage a content team ensuring: set clear priorities and objectives for the team develop and manage direct reports, including training and development plans, coaching on the job and delegating effectively foster a culture of openness and encourage innovation. Financial and project management ensure that budgets are properly controlled and reported ensure that all projects are managed to timescales and budget ensure written procedures and checklists are developed and adhered to, ensuring proper briefing and correct sign off for all projects. Corporate social responsibility apply the principles of the CSR policy in your daily role, particularly reduce-reuse-recycle adhere to AAT s responsible business practices, such as high standards of governance, raising employment standards for employees and forming trade and community partnerships with appropriate organisations.
