Hazards Identification Potential Health Hazards Dust may cause skin and/or eye irritation after prolonged contact. Mist and solutions will cause skin and/or eye irritation. Inhalation: May cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Ingestion: May irritate the gastrointestinal tract with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Moderately toxic. 4. First Aid Measures Skin: Immediately wash skin with soap and water. Prolonged contact with dry powder may cause drying or chapped skin. Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold the lids back and allow water to thoroughly irrigate the eye. Seek prompt medical attention. Inhalation: May cause coughing and sneezing. Remove to fresh air immediately. Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. If the person is conscious, give plenty of milk or water. Get immediate medical attention. No significant health effects are expected with ingestion of small amounts. 1 of 5

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid unnecessary exposure. 7. Handling and Storage Normal Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Minimize dusting while handling. Do not eat or drink in the material handling and storage area. Practice good personal hygiene and housekeeping. Wear goggles while handling material. Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool, well ventilated area away from moisture. Material is hygroscopic. Keep in a tightly closed container. 8. Exposure Controls/ Personal Protective Equipment Engineering Controls: Use local exhaust if dusty conditions exist. Do not handle within an unventilated space. OSHA and the ACGIH have not established an exposure limit for this material. However the least stringent exposure limit for particulates which are not 2 of 5

otherwise regulated or classified are listed below. These limits should be followed in the absence of more stringent levels. Use a NIOSH approved respirator for dusts and mists. Avoid An eye wash and safety shower is also recommended. 9.
